  • Exactly what it says on the tin.

Simple match 3. No ads, no timer, no stress. One of the most relaxing games I’ve ever played. Only downside I’ve come across is that I need more levels. I blitzed through 300 and need more. 🙏

So glad you like the game! I hope to add more levels in the future :)
  • Super fun!

I don’t usually like match games like this, but I have found this app to be really enjoyable. Absolutely no ads, calming music and the most adorable icons to collect. I love that there is a zen mode if you don’t feel like having a challenge and a daily level to keep things interesting!

It can take a minute to get the hang of the obstacles, but the app has hints and helps that explain them if you take the time to look.

Can’t wait to see more apps from this developer!

  • Exactly what it says it is

I haven’t dove into many Match 3s, but had the itch to. This game really stood out what REALLY stood out was the Dev responding to feedback. I noticed they are a solo dev, even more props to them. So far I’m enjoying my time with this game. The simplistic yet very nice layout, challenge scaling, rewards etc. I don’t know how long achievements go for, but it is nice having something to chase other than just beating the levels. 👍

Thanks for your review! And yes, I’m very open to feedback as I want the game to be the best it can be! I’m glad you’re enjoying the game :)
  • NOTHING SIMPLE ABOUT IT!

I don't believe any of these reviews nor do I understand the branding of this game: Simple it is not. It can be challenging in a fun way on occasion but you can also be stuck playing the same level over and over again until the algo "lets you win". The instructions are poorly and vaguely written (and some of them are just wrong) that go along with the 26, yes, 26 "special pieces" that are obstacles in one way or another; how is that simple? Tbh, It feels like a game that was created by people who think they are just "so clever" that they don't have to edit; they just shove everything they made in it. There is no actual way, for example, to make a three by three "L" shaped rainbow in a match 3 game, hello... So it has to generate randomly but also will keep you from progressing. I'm on level 38 now and played it umpteen different ways for over 30 mins. w/ the same results: just stuck there, which is neither fun or relaxing.

If you want a sometimes ridiculous challenge, then this is your game. But if you are looking for an actually simple match 3 game, look elsewhere. Plus you have to pay before you can play so you don't know what you have gotten into until it's too late so there's that too.

I’m sorry to hear you’re not happy with the game. As with most match 3 game, new elements are introduced slowly to keep gameplay interesting. I will definitely consider changing the first few dot levels to have an easier layout. If you’re looking for a simple match 3 game with no extra elements, I think it’s clear from the screenshots and app preview video that this game does include lots of special pieces and elements, but I’m sorry if it wasn’t what you were expecting. Edit: Again, I’m sorry that the game didn’t meet your expectations. I will be sure to edit the game’s description in the future to include the fact that most of the levels are puzzles and not just simple levels. I can see how you might find the name of the game misleading. I do plan to add a zen mode in the future so hopefully that will improve the game for you! Also, I’d be curious to know which instructions are “wrong”? I didn’t create this game to be frustrating and definitely didn’t just throw a bunch of special elements in there to be annoying and keep players from progressing. Believe it of not I actually spent a lot of time designing the gameplay and coding each specific part of the game. If would’ve been much easier to make 300 levels with no special elements, but I truly tried to create a unique and enjoyable experience. The special elements are probably introduced faster than some other match 3 games. This is mostly because I’m a solo developer and don’t have a team of people to create thousands of filler levels. I’m sorry you don’t find it enjoyable.
  • Why do I have to tap so many freaking times on these boxes

Gotta tap on reward boxes about a billion times to open them. So freaking annoying. It's not fun suspense, it makes it seem like one of the ad based games trying to build hype. Just open the box when I tap on it once for crying out loud.

A lot of the bonuses are actually lost if you set them off too close together which is disappointing. A 2x2 match unexpectedly does nothing, fine I guess. The icons for the bonus tiles are too similar and it's not immediately clear what to expect when using them. I think I have the hang of it and then I guess wrong. Oh, and there's no way to use them in place, so if you accidentally make the swap from the wrong direction and don't trigger the bonus where you were lining it up for, you're hosed. On the other hand, I do appreciate the concept of being able to control the location of the bonus tile.

Also one level it seemed like the fewer moves I did the level in, the worse my star rating was when using the finish level button. I eventually had to manually finish the level to get three stars.

The icons are really cute though and being able to actually buy a match three game instead of having it ad driven is great. Maybe my expectations were just too high.

Hello, Thank you for your review. I will definitely consider your feedback. I will make the present boxes open with fewer taps, I guess I just didn’t realize how annoying it is since if you tap quickly it opens in just a couple seconds. I would also like to add power ups for 2x2 matches. Im sorry you find the rainbow tiles confusing. If the stripes are vertical, it destroys all tiles in the column, if the stripes are horizontal, it destroys all tiles in the row. This is all explained in the help menu. Again, I will take your feedback into consideration and hopefully improve the game.
  • NOTHING SIMPLE😡Total Rip-off!

BEWARE of this game, and frankly any game that makes you pay before you play: my bad! You can basically play the first 5 levels as a "simple" match and merge game, granted w/ some odd rainbow line smashes when you merge 4-5 and then on level 6, the ENTIRE GAME CHANGES: all these impassable dots appear, no more simple grid and the grid that is there makes it impossible (w/ the impassable dots) to merge 4-5 tiles and you cannot get beyond it. Total Stress and total Rip-Off... Apple, you better refund my money!

  • Simply The Best

Absolutely best match three in the store. One price, no ads and tons of content.

Thanks so much for your 5 star review!
  • Amazing game

Super fun game, totally worth the purchase. I love all of the customization options. The developer is also super kind and responsive when it comes to bug fixing. I can’t wait for more levels to come out!!

    Developer Response

So glad to hear you like the game! I hope to release more levels in the next couple of months!
  • Great game until you hit a wall.

The difficulty spikes in later levels make it exceedingly hard to keep playing. There’s too many late level puzzles after 30+ stages that just gets too hard and progression pretty much halts.

    Developer Response

Hello there! Sorry to hear you feel like the difficulty level spikes! Do you feel like the game would be better if new elements were introduced more slowly? Or if you had more moves per level? Feel free to email any suggestions to mulberrytreegames@gmail.com. I’m always willing to improve the game in any way I can :)
  • Ran into an issue

I received a developer response but don’t see it here. The response said they tried for a balance of difficulty. I understand and appreciate the response. But the description says a relaxed game. I didn’t find it relaxing. I find my self saying way too much, I hope I never have to play that level again. Just not my cup of tea. I’ll keep looking for a less serious distraction.

Sorry I had to change my rating. There is the blue smoke/black bar feature that came up. A lot of match 3 use this. No other app makes the smoke grow at every patch occurrence when one block isn’t knocked out. So you have to use all your power ups to try to clear the smoke. You lose one square for every patch, even of you clear one, you have to gain more smoke. It’s not fun like this. —— We are all tired of the match 3 games that have limited play or difficult levels that require watching an ad, paying for power ups, or slogging through onerous story lines that we don’t want to see. Sometimes we want an easy distraction and this is perfect. it’s an idea that is very welcome.

Hello there, I’m sorry to hear you don’t enjoy that particular game mechanic. It’s definitely one of the trickier special pieces in the game! One strategy I find helpful is to make a match whenever possible near a black or gray piece to prevent them from spreading. If you happen to make any rainbow tiles on the board, save them for when you aren’t able to make a match near the black or gray pieces. It is a hard balance trying to create a relaxing game, but still including trickier elements for players that do want a little bit of a challenge. I definitely try to vary the elements between levels so you don’t get stuck with a lot of frustrating levels in a row. I hope you can understand! Feel free to send me an email at mulberrytreegames.com with any other suggestions. I’m glad you are enjoying the game otherwise!
