Confusing buggy bad controls

Good graphics bad controls, requires body movement, recommend NOT to buy this app till the control options are updated. Quest 3 version is better, this app has not been updated like the quest app.

Hey there, Sorry you had trouble. You can disable the music in the pause menu, which can be accessed by pinching both hands together at the same time. We currently only have snap turning because the hand tracking is not precise enough for pan turning, we are working on comfortable panning for a future update.

Works great on Apple Vision Pro!

When I bought my AVP, I wasn’t aware of an app for using Google Earth to browse the world. Figuring there would be one, I bought the device and hoped for the best. THIS APP IS IT! This is awesome!

EXTREMELY HIGH POTENTIAL

As a flight sim user, I admire the smart and perfected implementation of this flight simulator. However, there are several Ux issues like the pinch navigation and pinch flying. I find it annoying to use my head so I use the pinch feature, but oil constantly confused as some gestures in advertently switch the direction of flight . The flying controls are also really annoying because of this. Controlling the direction of flight is not easy. You guys need to work out rotation user experience, have it rotate on sharp head movements not weird hand drag action..at least Please allow it to invert which hand the controls height versus direction. Also add autopilot please!!!

Needs controller support but otherwise a great way to relive a trip or learn about new places

Needs to support Bluetooth controllers. Google Earth VR was one of my favorite VR apps when we first got into VR but I have long since boxed up the Samsung Odyssey and Reverb G2. This app brings back the fun of gliding around places I know well and can’t wait to get back to, and also lets me explore and learn about places I didn’t know existed. Just today I was “flying” from Mt. Fuji back to Enoshima and decided to explore Oshima south of Sagami Bay. I had no idea it had a volcano. Now a ferry ride to Oshima is on my list for my next trip to Japan. I would have never noticed the volcano it if it weren’t for this app letting me fly around Japan.

Controls Ruin It

I used to love Google maps in the PC version of Google Earth. The concept is beautiful of being able to fly around and see different places as well as places used to live or visited. However, the controls for this app are really bad. I can’t turn around. I have to completely move my head around to look at different things. It absolutely ruins the experience. with Google maps I could fly around like a jet pilot, but with this it’s like 1999 technology to navigate with your head like it’s those old headsets that you can put your cell phone into. If they could improve navigation, this would be a five star app. I tried it for two minutes and I am returning it. This is a big bummer cause I really wanted this to work. I hope they improve controls or another company makes a Google Earth app with better control controls.

Awesome app! Hope to see these improvements.

Love the app, but would like to see at least a few of these additions.
- Add voice input for destinations… it’s surprising this is absent.
- Save favorite locations… really should be in the app
- Add (or improve) 360 degree spin. I can’t seem to turn around, but just make gentle turns going forward (or backwards).
- Save selected flight paths. Would be useful to show “guest” users or revisit favorite flights.
- Add street view imagery for ground-level navigation. This is probably a big ask. Maybe another app called “Drive”! lol

Update: Glad to see the frequent updates, but documentation/tutorial is problematic. For example, I have been unable to use “Street View” or reliably make “Snap Turns” (these randomly occur in use, but I have no idea how to initiate them). I have never been able to to view the Street View tutorial… it doesn’t appear under the the tutorial section (that I can find). I see no mention of Snap Turns at all, except as a developer comment in this review. I think the app is going in the right direction, but please give better instructions for its’ use!

Hey thanks for trying it out. Voice input is in something we are working on currently. Bookmarks went out with the latest update and are available now. Street view integration also was added in the most recent update. Snap turning should allow you to get a full 360 turn, but we are looking at a better way to get this going on the vision pro, the pinch controls are not as ideal, so we may add controller support as well. Flight paths are something we are looking at, but need to do some design to see how it would work best. Thanks again for the feedback and trying it.

Bad, clunky controls

Had a lot of hope for this, but it is awful to use. It doesn’t support eye tracking, it has some weird head controls, it doesn’t support native pinching so it’s hard to even get to the menu. It has a lot of potential but it’s just bad.
