  • Great way to relive a trip or learn about new places

Google Earth VR was one of my favorite VR apps when we first got into VR but I have long since boxed up the Samsung Odyssey and Reverb G2. This app brings back the fun of gliding around places I know well and can’t wait to get back to, and also lets me explore and learn about places I didn’t know existed. Just today I was “flying” from Mt. Fuji back to Enoshima and decided to explore Oshima south of Sagami Bay. I had no idea it had a volcano. Now a ferry ride to Oshima is on my list for my next trip to Japan. I would have never noticed the volcano it if it weren’t for this app letting me fly around Japan.

  • fun intuitive and frustrating all at once

OK so this is great fun - but after a little while you wish there were more solid controls and a easier way to call up the interface. and must we really have the engine things? as a pilot i get how this works, but wish i could fly side stick it at times LOL being I easily get around - probably wont use it enough to justify the $15

Hey Dansker, In the options you can hide the vehicle either completely or just the engines. You can also edit the control inputs. Curious which control input you are using currently. We are looking at adding controller support for people who prefer to use joysticks vs hands only. *follow up* Just confirming that you where able to find the options and disable the engines /swap the control input. Let us know if we can help.
  • How do you move?

I’m not sure what the developers are thinking but its not obvious on how to move in this app. I can only figure out how to go up and down.

    Developer Response

Hey Peteostro, Sorry you are having trouble. The tutorial should teach you how to move around using your head position. If you pinch with both hands you can open the options and swap to pinch and move motion for moving around similar to the elevation on the right hand. If you have further issues happy to help with it if you reach out to support@virzoom.com
  • Absolutely remarkable experience!

Some of the most fun I’ve had in the avp! Loved how changing the flight control to pinch and drag actually felt a lot like a joystick. The controls all in all felt very intuitive quickly, and I had an absolute blast flying around my home city, and can easily lose myself for a long time exploring other places like this. Feeling like I’m actually sitting in and operating my man sized drone! More than worth the money! Bravo and thank you to the developer!

  • Magnificent!

What a fantastic app! Controls become very intuitive with a little practice and then you’re just enjoying the feeling of flying. “Google Earth inside the AVP” is my quick description but it doesn’t capture the amazing experience. Requests:
    1. Bookmarks!
    2. Let me move the music volume down to 0, not just 1. I want to turn it off completely
    3. Do we really need to use that custom keyboard? Why can’t you use the standard one, then I could speak my destination, not to mention type more easily?
    4. Still seeing some position skips in the latest version. Not a huge deal but breaks the immersion a little when it happens

  • Works well

I would like to be able to favorite locations. I would like to be able to search for locations using voice. Otherwise, this is a great app and I’m really enjoying using it.

    Developer Response

Working on Bookmarks right now and should have them out in an update very soon!
  • Great app and some suggestions

This is my dream app on AVP. Some suggestions: 1. Bookmark. 2. Local cache so as to avoid stream the same data again and again. 3. Precision search down to street numbers. 4. Street map. This really has the potential to be a killer app. Keep it up!

    Developer Response

Bookmarks are going in the next major update! I think we have one bug fix to deploy before then, but should be soon. The terms of using the Google Tiles unfortunately prevents caching for very long, or we would store more locally. Will pass on the feedback for 3 and 4!
  • Can’t get the app to start

Instructions tell you to pinch and hold both hands to begin, but nothing happens. I paid 15 bucks for this?

    Developer Response

Hey there! We just sent out an update that adds a start button to the launch screen to avoid the double pinch to move forward. You will still need to double pinch to open the menu's so please make sure you have accepted the permissions we request on install! ** edit** just checking to make sure this has been fixed for you
