Has some things to add and fix but overall this is excellent! A fix for crash when switching games, personally would prefer not to be sent back to iOS and have functions or switching of games without the crash to iOS.
  • Promising Start

Being able to run GZDoom on iOS has been a longtime dream of mine, and it's finally here! What's here is already promising, but it's definitely missing key features, and other things definitely need tuning.
-aiming with a touchscreen feels less like a mouse and more like touch input being translated to controller stick input that's then being given to the game. It DOES NOT feel good whatsoever, and if you have a background with other touchscreen FPS games, it's gonna feel especially bad.
-as another reviewer pointed out, not being able to have generic buttons that can be used for mod specific bindings is also an issue, along with the fact you can't actually resize any of the buttons, nor control their transparency independent of each other. Being able to mess around with the top buttons as well would also be nice. (Having a separate button that pulls them all out and hides them would be a nice addition as well)

Those are the things that stuck out the most to me, but as an enjoyer of doom's community modding scene and mobile gaming, this is a HUGE blessing.

Thanks for making this, and good luck on your future endeavors!
  • Thank you!

Update: I love the new virtual controllers and options you added. The stock Apple one was just too ‘weird’. Thanks for changing it up. And while you mentioned iPad support, just having the ability to tamp down the virtual button layout overlay helps a lot. It works great with the Magic Keyboard.

Following you on the forums and know about the existing issues so I won’t repeat those here. Being an old school Doom fan I am so happy to see my old discs going to good use again. I was tempted to try the Mac version before, but really wanted a more portable experience. Messing with this using my iPad and Magic Keyboard I get most keys working, except for the trackpad which I know probably goes back to the official iPad and keyboard support later. But this is still so much better than the Bethesda versions I purchased years ago. Fans appreciate your efforts with this and other emulators. Good luck with all of this! Update: I was wrong, the MK trackpad does work with z axis. This keyboard is pretty close to working actually. Very nice!
  • Thanks

This is everything i ever dreamed of thank you best app ever all my doom mods work flawlessly
  • Works great! Except crashes when switching games.

Took off a star because it crashes when switching games. But works fine after restarting the app!
  • More updates

Very good application, I like it but I feel that it needs more things. I've been using Delta Touch since it has more features and engine. Maybe you could get references. More updates and it would be better. Very good app by the way, keep it up. Love itt 🤩🤩😍😍😍
  • Amazing

This is everything I ever wanted. I never expected this to actually happen, thanks. I really appreciate the full controller support. But there’s a couple problems and it’s that 1, the controller camera movement is a bit jittery, and 2, there’s no underscore key, so I can’t enter commands properly, and I can’t manually bind stuff that’s not in the options menu already. Please take this into consideration and fix these if you could.

    Developer Response

Thanks for your comments! The controller support should be fixed with the recent updates. The virtual keyboard is indeed in need of some love and I'll be looking to improve this later.
