Needs improvement

The new NCL app is delayed and slow compared to the previous app.
Some how new app showed that I had a balance for my cruise after I had already paid in full. The app applied to my account a balance for the prepaid gratuity that I wasn’t ready to pay yet. I am not the only user this has affected. There have been others according to a group of people

Better than previous app

So far I like the new app over the old app with a couple exceptions. First, it takes a long time to load content, which is annoying but I can live with that. Second, and more importantly, it doesn’t show the spa reservations I made like the old app does. Do now I’m going to have to keep the old app until this functionality it’s available in the new app. Looking forward to seeing how this new app works on board.

Doesn’t open

Just a blank screen. Pretty crappy app.

Slow and Dial Up era

I have Gbps internet. This app makes booking feel like I am in dial up era. It is also not useful when you have a large party with two rooms. The app requires creating individual accounts for each room to book. This makes excursion booking cumbersome, especially dining reservations! I called in to talk with cruise specialist and was told it is just the way things are. Terrible.

Beware this app

I am on a NCL cruise when I wrote this review.
I was asked to download the ncl app when I got on the ship and signed up for the “free internet.”
After a couple of days, I found out that my phone connects to the ncl wifi automatically even I disable “auto connection when wifi available” and turn off WiFi function before I go to bed for my safety reason.
Today, my phone called each of my relatives without I knew until I got a text to ask if I called. I had to disable my wifi calling.
Then I found out the some tour reservation’s price are too good until I confirmed with the shore excursion team.
What frustrating is that excursion teams told me they don’t work with IT team and IT support told me that I needed to talk to shore excursion team as he doesn’t support tour reservations. As my iPhone weird behavior, I was told it was me, not their app or the system.

Content fails to load

I have never been able to use this new app. Every time I try, “Woops! We couldn’t load the content. Please try again or come back later.”
You try again later and same problem. The app just doesn’t work. The old app does, and it works as you’d expect an app for a cruise liner to work.
Also, why release a new (broken) app, just update the old one with whatever improvements should be there (assuming the new app is somehow an improvement.)
