Filter by commented games

I love the layout of this app and one thing that sets this apart is the comments which explains the moves in a human way.

The only problem is there is no way to easily tell which games have comments and which don't, since you can't filter.

Useful Application + Recommendation

Take Take Take is a 1 click application to follow the master games though the board along with the comments. The app is quite easy to navigate. There are some glitches or loading problems while looking at some matches, but they are usually fixed when I go back and reload the app. I don't really mind glitches since the application is in development phase and many versions will be released after this. The application remains quite useful.

I would recommend fixing these problems as well as adding some kind of video content (from yt) or from match itself.

No, no, no, notifications

Could be good, but…I have notifications on for both iPad and iPhone but I never get any notifications whatsoever when my favorite players are playing.

Very good but missing important feature

This app is amazing for live viewing chess games but there is no sleep mode for the notification system, which is a problem with all the different time zones, causing many phone notifications while trying to sleep.

Great app, excited for it to grow!

Loving this app so far guys, I can see it having a lot of growth potential.

Here are some of my suggestions

1- I want a section where I can review the games without knowing who wins or loses. It kind of takes the mystery away when you show the result before I can see the board and I’m sure a lot of people feel this way.

I think you guys will get a LOT more traction doing this

2- I can totally see a live audio commentary feed along with these games that we can toggle or on off.

Great Idea β€” missing simple things

I love the idea of being able to follow great chess players and watch live games with commentary and analysis.

How did you put more emphasis in the app development on whether the person is right or left-handed – and you don’t have the ability to turn the board around and watch from the black side? Another issue is that there isn’t any ability to move pieces to check through variations.

If you could solve the simple things, it would really help!

Nice New Chess App

Good app. Please make the daily take question viewable after you get the answer.

This was badly needed

A one stop shop for following all games and tournaments! Thank you Magnus for doing this. The UI is great and very easy on the eye. It’s a new app so there’s lot of room for improvement.
Would love to see engine lines for the games rather than just the next move. Also would like the ability to make moves on the board to evaluate the position.

Nice concept

So I believe this app is something that’s very cool when I used it. But for it to be better they need to add more features, and they should make me their owner if they want to have any chance of becoming the best.

Puzzling

This app was described as making it easier to track games, but few tournaments are included. Thus, it is not just difficult to track games, it is actually impossible in many cases.

Another selling point was that the comments would be insightful and descriptive rather than notational. However, reviewing games in the Chennai Masters for example, one encounters only statements like β€œSarana’s pawn goes to d5”. How is this insightful?

I’ll also note that the team also emphasized that letter-number descriptions would not be used, but they’re used in every game. I can understand why this may have been changed: Carlsen’s narration example on a launch video made clear that if one strips away square coordinates the description is too vague to be meaningful. It seems to me that this will take some new ideas. Here’s a simple one: label the rows and columns on the board!

I also feel that the game outcome should not be displayed immediately. It’s a spoiler. The company emphasized that tournaments occur at a wide range of times and time zones, and that the app would aid those who wish to follow the games. I recommend avoiding spoilers for the same reason.
