...Then I tried this app

I have tried quite a few of these types of apps - looking for something to show me how I am saving for a particular goal, and what it looks like in the future if I save more/less. I have used other apps for a couple months, but then I subsequently delete each one, because it is hard to use, or it doesn’t track month to month, or it just isn’t what I was really looking for. Then I tried this app! It’s designed SO great. I love how it shows my daily spending for each of my bills, even my monthly bills. I love that when I enter in my expenses for today, it shows me how that affects tomorrow and next week. I am just so happy with this app. I want to show it to everyone. Thanks, people!

Simple. Visual. Straightforward.

Are you tired of budgeting apps that come with a million frills, landing pages, and features you’ll never use? Do you find yourself dreading going into your budgeting app because it’s just too much work? Do you feel struggle to visualize how much you should be spending every day?

Then this is the app for you!

I’ve tried every budgeting app known to man and THIS is the one that has stuck. It has exactly what I want in a budgeting app: guidelines, some - not excessive - detailed analysis of my spending, and such an easy interface that I don’t mind entering in purchases immediately after making them. Thank you to the people who have worked on this app! It’s a great product and I hope I always have it at my fingertips.

Takes a bit of trying to get right, but we’ll worth it

You need to make sure your cycle settings match your pay cycle and play around with a few other setting to get it just right, but once you do it is fantastic. Super easy to use on the go, keeps track of things really well, and is very usable in the free version. I did pay for the extra features (such as more categories for types of spending), but that was more as a way to support this amazing app than for function. Although the extra categories are nice to have. Highly recommend

Simple and effective!

This app helps me keep track of how much I need to save for larger, future expenses. Most of all, I love how much it tells me I can spend per day based on my income and monthly expenses (it’s really satisfying to watch the number grow the less I spend). Thank you for your help!

Finally getting my budget together

This app is exactly what I need in my life to get the budget I truly need. There’s a few features I would love to see in the app though just to make it that much better. First of all some sort of refund feature so you don’t have to put something as extra income when you get the money back for it. Also perhaps a way to input a range of what your next projected paycheck will be and edit it to the exact number once you get it. Most people are not payed the exact same amount every week and we could have a few hours of overtime or a few hours less than projected. I know we could just go back and edit it, but having an idea of the range and being able to plan accordingly for it would take the guess work out of our budget that creates gaps we didn’t plan for.

Really love this app

It does almost everything I need. I’ve been wanting a budgeting app like this for ages and now I’m fully down for it. The day by day budgeting system is solid as hell.

The two features I think that I would LOVE to see are:

- A calendar mode where you can see an overall image of your budget and how it’s going to track over the next/past few weeks/months

- being able to input salary in a more specific way to line up with when I’m actually paid. For example my current job pays on the last weekday of each month. My previous one paid on the first Friday of each month ( I know weird).

I’m passionate about this app and have paid for the full version and despite my gesture requests I still full-heartedly recommend trying it out.

Thank you very much for your detailed feedback! Calendar entry system is planned for one of the further releases. Currently, there is an Overview section under Analysis, which can be accessed by tapping the Notepad icon in the top right corner. There you can see the overall picture for the current and past cycles (switched to via the left arrow at the top). As to inputting salary, the exact payday doesn't play a very big role since the app distributes the income over the period. However, we'll keep your feedback in mind for future releases.

My Unorthodox Use Case

So I’m actually in college with a semester-based stipend for food bought on campus. The way the university deals with this “meal plan” is quite clunky, so I decided to get my own budgeting app and work out the budget myself.
I mainly care about portioning out a bit of the meal plan each day for big events and such, but the app is also quite functional in that I can transfer all of the collected finance data into a CSV spreadsheet!
Returning to the meal plan, the way the app tries to set up my budget as more income-based than allowance-based is probably useful for most use cases of this app. However, my meal plan is essentially just a gift card that I swipe on campus, with a fixed amount at the start of each semester. In order to get around the “income” problem for this app, I essentially just have the pay period (a setting in the income options) to the duration of the semester. From there, the app calculates how much you get every day, and just gives you that fixed income for as long as you wish. I’ve found that basically for August and January, when I’m not spending meal plan for half of those months, I just subtract all of the accrued savings and continue on with the semester!

Overall, love the app. Easy to use. Also has a good Internet forum on reddit.

Thank you very much for your detailed review! You can also enter your meal plan amount as an extra income and distribute it over the necessary period. In this case it'd be easier to edit it. But in general regular income does the same things with start and end date.

A breath of fresh air amongst other dreary budgeting apps

I’m a busy working mum, running a consultancy business with not much time to spare. Due to the nature of my work, I’m paid daily by some clients and weekly by others. I have tried a multitude of money / budgeting apps and found most require a huge amount of time and effort in order to accurately assist you and most are built around a monthly salary which is no use to me at all. This app is in a league of its own. Simple and easy to use, works with daily, weekly and monthly incomes, takes barely 3 or 4 mins of my day to update and has a wealth of tools and customisations to use/choose from. I’m so impressed I gladly paid the one off fee (not a subscription like many other greedy companies). Amazing work dev team and creators! This app is a delight - thank you!

Great app!

This is such a simple and intuitive app for budget tracking. I love how I can see how much I can spend a day and it’s a good motivation not to when I can see how much it adds up over a few days!

I do have one suggestion: under “savings” could you add options for savings per week/fortnight/month etc. instead of just per day or a percentage? I’d prefer to set up my savings to coincide on my fortnightly pay days, just like the regular expenses and income.

Thanks for such a good app and keep up the good work!

Response from developer

Thank you very much for your suggestion, we'll consider it for future updates! Meanwhile, you can disable "Use % of income" toggle and the app will allow you to set a savings amount per cycle. If your cycle corresponds to a month, for example, then it will be savings per month.

A simple, well executed little app

The app keeps things really clean and clear. Just focusing on your daily budget is a great way to focus your saving efforts. I’ve tried using ones that link to your bank account but:
1- my bank doesn’t play well with other apps and the sign up stage is always painful
2 - I’m uncomfortable about another company having that amount of granular data on me
3 - I’d probably keep spending as usual and then feel guilty about it when I look at the analysis. Daily Budget asks me to take money away from my daily allowance at the point of purchasing something. So it encourages informed decisions making about how I spend my money instead of showing me how I have already spent my money.

There are a lot of paid for add-ons. This, at first, seems a little counter intuitive to the aim of the app - to save money and spend less on things you don’t actually need. But, allowing me to pay a one off fee for each additional feature I find of use is a clever way of making me think about what will help me budget. And no subscriptions!
