  • GREEDY GAME DEVELOPER

If I could give this game a MINUS 1 million review I would. I don’t mind spending $ on a game that’s fair with its customers. However this game developer is showing its utter greed. In Beta version 1.0.7-8 you could craft something that took 1-1/2 hours and it was only 4 lava to complete early. So I thought that’s pretty fair and will make some lava purchases to support game developer. After last update 1.1.2, crafting an item that takes 40 minutes, they now want 48 lava stone to finish early. That’s RIDICULOUS!!!! LDW you lost my $ and my respect. Someone is starting a petition to boycott your games and I’m not surprised. People aren’t going to support you and we’ll see to it that it hurts your $ as you’re trying to hurt ours, the consumer. Too bad you decided to be greedy instead of fair to people who originally wanted to support you.

Thank you for your feedback on the game. We completely understand your concern regarding the cost of items in the game.  We're always reviewing pricing and the in-game economy to ensure a balance of fairness and a reasonable difficulty level. There are many other ways to earn Lavastones and Tech Points apart from buying them in the Marketplace - you can earn them through random events in the game, the trading ship, exploring volcanic cracks, watching video ads, the daily reward calendar and much more! Let us know if you have any other questions and thanks for playing!
  • Pay to play

I see the object of this game. So far the women all die after giving birth along with their kids. So now I’m left with 4 men. Soon they will die. Then I’ll have to start the game over and lose my progress unless I BUY villagers. This game is a rip off. Worst virtual villagers to date. The men and women never want to go to the love shack. It’s impossible to complete quest and puzzles because it takes FOREVER to gain tech points. The workers always walk away from the research desk. WASTE OF TIME!!! PAY TO PLAY!!!

  • Dumb AI generated video and fall from grace

Really sad to see the devs of some of my favorite childhood games stoop so low as to using garbage Ai generated images and videos for their game. Would’ve been happier if this never game out and the swap of the virtual families 3 app icon makes it look so disgusting and cheap as well. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but it just breaks my heart to leave this review after I got so excited over a new virtual villagers game in 2024.

Hi there! Thank you for your feedback. What can we do to improve your enjoyment of the game?
  • Scummy Cash grab and spammed with ads

The original Virtual villager games was my absolute favorite mobile games so my pants shot off when I seen there was a new one! After playing it for 3 days I am so extremely disappointed. It’s nothing but a scummy cash grab game. Oh want more tech points wellllll spend $10 bucks and you got it! Oh want this cool animal to help collect?! $10 bucks and it’s all yours! Oh congratulations you upgraded your farm level here’s 2 mins of game ads to watch before you can do anything. Oh good job you crafted rope that took 30 mins to collect and craft here is a 3 minute ad video you have to watch before you continue with the game. You get a ad, you get a ad, everyone gets a ad!!

    Developer Response

Hi there, thank you for your feedback on the ads. We try and ensure that the presence of ads is minimal, non-invasive and relevant to our players. We're always reviewing how we manage them within the game, and I've sent your feedback to our team. That said, making any in-app purchase removes these ads completely!
  • Got boring fast

Was entertaining while there were puzzles to figure out. Quickly got to point where I have to wait days with no game play to level up and get new puzzle. The only way to speed it up is to buy lava stone, would cost $25 to get enough lava stone to get to next puzzle, and that’s just on the low levels. Price and time will go up from there.

  • It has pros and cons like any game

    Pros:
    1. So far there are fewer ads than Origins 2. I really hope they keep it that way.
    2. Much shorter crafting time for most things!
    3. For some reason I feel like the visuals remind me more of the older VV games which is kinda nice. Except the villagers, they are very different looking. They have spindly legs.
    4. It brings me joy to play, more so than Origins 2 because I hate the long crafting times and the tons of ads.
    5. The godly powers thing is interesting.

    Cons:
    1. Villagers’ legs weird me out for some reason. I’m not used to them having articulating knee-joints.
    2. Lava stones have had their worth diluted so it takes almost 300 to speed up a 4 hour craft time. On the other hand, only takes 3 to get a personalized stone for the villager.
    3. There are still some ads that interrupt your gameplay after crafting and stuff, but apparently you can pay to have those removed at some point?
    4. For some reason it feels like it’s more difficult to breed villagers? They’re less interested in love shack activities. Unless they added an interest system based on similar age grouping and the ladies don’t all want to have a child with the 100-year old best scientist in the village (I dunno, he still has great hair at that age).

I do not know how to make a clay brick or a clothing spindle and I wish to know because I am wasting resources with my experimenting… (please tell me)

Overall, the game is still in early access so I expect they’ll make changes based on feedback and bugs and such.

Also there might be a bug with your pop up prompting you to pay for lavastones in exchange for no ads except optional because I clicked on it and basically got free lavastones, still ads, and it never charged me??

  • Still seems like it’s in beta

Welcome back to another island. while this game is fun, it seems like it’s still in an alpha build phase with a few bugs to work out & unbalanced gameplay that needs adjusting.

  • Disappointing, worse than expected

Kept my expectations low, seeing as how this game looked like another Origins 2 but with god powers returning. As much as i hated that game for numerous reasons (arbitrarily long crafting times that try to get you to spend on lavastones and/or watch a bunch of crappy mobile game ads, villagers new design looks worse than the originals, always needing an internet connection, never optimized for newer iphones, etc etc), this new entry makes Origins 2 look like a decent virtual villagers game in comparison. And i HATED that game. I didn’t think they’d manage to make the villagers look worse than the Origins 2 new designs, but they somehow did. My God they look awful. It got to the point that i started pushing myself to continue playing despite how awful it was. I did the same when i played Origins 2, and i ended up completing the game all the way through (which i really regret doing). This time, i really couldn’t do it. I deleted the app and just came to terms with fact that VV is now just a shell of its former glory. The very things that was wrong with Origins 2 are present in this “sequel” as well. Quite a shame that we’ll never get a true successor that resembles the first 5 games, thanks to greed and microtransactions. RIP VV, i had a great time playing 1-5. This game doesn’t really deserve to be called the 6th entry. It’s pretty much just Origins 2.0, but much much worse. If you don’t like the new direction and look the series took with Origins 2, then stay clear of this game.

  • Not impressed

I have loved vv and vf since it first came out. This game tho has no quest or tips on how to play. I've reached a point where idk what to do next. I'm stuck and getting bored quickly.

  • Too expensive to upgrade

Ok now that I’ve played the game for 24hrs I can leave my review. It’s absolutely ridiculous how expensive it is to upgrade the stations. Are you kidding me with the ridiculous amount of tech points/ lava stones required to upgrade? It feels like this a ploy to get players to spend real $. Remember players don’t mind spending $ on games as long as it’s worth it. I’m not spending my hard earned $ because you guys want to be unreasonable. Hopefully you guys revise that because it takes away from the fun. Also, if you’ve never played any of the virtual families/ villagers games it’ll be confusing since it’s no tutorial as to what to do you, just have to figure it out. Maybe a “helpful tips” tab would resolve this?
