• NEW: Load list editor for iPhones. You can now edit loads in phones using the load list panel in addition to the graphical editor, as you can already do in iPad. • NEW: Change constraint type without having to remove it and add a new one. Simply select a constraint, and the constraint type buttons will appear above it in the graphical editor. • NEW: Copy and delete loads using the dropdown menu in the top right of each load card in the load list panel. • IMPROVED: Press the new "Add" (+) button to add loads on phones. This new design allows you to scroll up and down without accidentally dragging the load icons. • IMPROVED: Better screen layout and minor fixes and improvements across the app.

• USER REQUESTED: Configure the number of significant figures used to display values. This does not affect inputs or internal calculations. • USER REQUESTED: Configure whether large values should be displayed using scientific or engineering notation. • USER REQUESTED: Different engineers have different needs, so you can now configure the direction of moment diagrams to match your convention and industry. • NEW: Add a title to your design document using the new text box on top of the design area. • IMPROVED: Bending stress visualizations have been revamped to display both max tension and compression components intuitively. • IMPROVED: Diagram labels are a little smarter and have a better layout. When selecting a discontinuous point, both sides of it will now be labeled. • IMPROVED: Interaction with distributed loads should feel better now, and the app won't crash if you enter an absurdly large length for it. • FIXED: Minor fixes in vertical cross section diagrams. • CHANGED: Use the settings button in the home screen to modify app default settings. These settings will apply to any new designs as well as the cross section and material libraries. Configuring options (units, significant figures, notation, etc.) within a design will now only apply to that design document.

Description of Deflection

Deflection is a powerful, versatile calculator for beams, 2D trusses, and 2D frames. The interface is simple and intuitive, and the graphical output is state-of-the-art. In addition to reaction, shear, bending moment, and deflection results, Deflection also computes internal shear and bending stress along the cross section and along the beam. 2D FRAME AND TRUSS EDITOR The 2D editor is seamlessly integrated with the beam editor. Draw arbitrary frame and truss structures and apply loads and constraints using the same simple interface as for beams. You can visualize results directly within the 2D editor, or you can select a beam and get additional insights. INTERNAL STRESSES Obtain internal bending and shear stress diagrams in addition to shear, bending, and deflection diagrams. The internal stresses can be visualized along the length of the beam as well as along the vertical axis of the cross section using the beam editor. CROSS SECTION EDITOR Edit built-in cross sections. Moment of inertia and area values are automatically calculated and applied to the rest of the beam calculations. MORE FEATURES • The built-in database contains more data for your reference and convenience. • Apply beam self-weight optionally • Unlimited design files • Quick-start templates CONTACT We like to hear from you!
