Garbage

This app is absolutely useless

Terrible app

I wish they would stop “updating” this app because the updates don’t fix any of the issues, and only mean that you need to spend the next hour or two manually resetting every device (because the updates don’t actually get pushed to the devices).

Garbage, useless

This crappy app (and their tinny-sounding, ridiculously-overpriced speakers) don’t work. Buy a song from Apple? Phorus cant play it. DUMB.

Support non-existent

I used this app to play Amazon music and Pandora with their PR5 receiver. Was working well until the last firmware update. Now I can’t connect, nor can I reset the receiver to a factory state again. It is just bricked. Tried to contact Phorus support multiple times without hearing anything back. Frustrating!

Really bad at managing devices

I got over it when it was tedious and required several restarts to bring my devices online in the first place, but the latest update *forced* me to update devices which are already working... And now it can't find them because apparently it loaded bad firmware? They no longer show up in Spotify either. The Play Fi team apparently needs some capable developers.

Apple Music not working

Amazon music works.
Apple Music not working, throws file format unsupported error.

Always stuttering and stopping

It seems that without updates the speakers are always giving issues. They keep pausing the music and stopping.

I have troubleshooted and the issue is not my wifi it is with the speaker. Usually after an update the problem goes away, but the issue seems to be that updates are always late!

I cannot depend on your speakers at all. I may have to switch to Sonos.

Works well has a few issues

It works well but has a few issues with Spotify. Can’t use any of the playback controls like the equalizer and the cross fade function. AIRPLAY just doesn’t work, skips 3 seconds out of every 30.

Update not so “up”

I just recently updated my phorus speakers and the app (Jun 3 ‘20). The system worked great before the update, but since updating, there are constant “skips” or momentary loss of signal. Funny because the update was to enhance the streaming of music within the app. It’s not my system either, like I said it worked great before and also my speakers work seamlessly when I use airplay. Please fix the update or send out a re-update of the previous app which worked great.

Please fix outages and delay

Spind is ok. App needs evolution to come close to nowadays standards. I am afraid Play-Fi is being phased out.
