  • I don't get that , must be your device!

We'll I'm not quite sure what's going on with the other reviewers devices but this app has never crashed or malfunctioned for me!
I love this app even though it's not as complex as other software . Actually it's its simplicity that is one of its strengths. It's an MPC emulation after all and a great one at that!
I believe the sounds are awesome and there are a lot included that cover a fair range of electric based styles to choose from. You can use your own samples aswell obviously if you are serious about making your own original tracks.
I can't think of anything negative to say about it so I'll conclude with stating that if your looking for a great beat maker or sampling sequencer emulating a legendary bit of hardware then I'd certainly recommend this!!!
It's not a complete studio and it doesnt claim to be either. Great work!

  • Generally Good

An overall good and useful app with an easy to use interface, and straightforward layout. However, app repeatedly crashes which is very frustrating. Please sort out!
  • No no

Not good. Lacks almost every feature you need to make serious music.
    Akai... I love my MPCs...
Seriously, why would you release this useless app?
Why would you ruin your reputation like this?
Where is the company that once built the MPC60, MPC3000... and also the 2500 and 1000?
Now you just release things like this app. It's sad :(

  • You could do better

App very easy to learn and use with no problems could improve the small perks like for samples and patterns consistently keep playing out of sequence. Also when loading samples on to soundcloud they do not play the way I originally made them on the app. This would make it a great app
  • Great app let down by lots of crashes

Easy to get into & very addictive but continually crashing when editing samples from library. Very frustrating as otherwise would be nigh on perfect little sketch pad. Also please add functionality to be able to export to email/notes etc.
  • Rubbish

I have a lot (hundreds) of music apps. This one has the privileged distinction of being genuinely rubbish.
    Don't bother with this app.
The sounds are poor. The app itself is very, very basic. Admittedly, it's not the worst thing out there (... at least it doesn't have constantly scrolling ads, in a paid app, as another of the developer's apps does)... but it's so "meh" it's not worth the time trying it again to see it really was as bad as remembered.

  • Good idea, few problems.

    I love:
Being able to sample music that's on your phone + live sounds, the beat pads, 4 channel mixer, exporting, pitch shifting and sample library.
    I hate:
Pressing the audio paste button makes the app crash immediately. This is a huge problem because even though I know, I still sometimes touch it, loosing everything I was working on. tracking in a song when sampling is very, very painful with the vinyl needle. Recording is just terrible; If you record and make 1 wrong note, on any track at any point, back to the start for you. There is no undo.

  • Would Not Recommend

Great idea, flawed execution. The app is buggy, unintuitive, and crashes! My biggest issue with it is that you CANNOT DELETE ANY SAMPLES!!!

This app desperately needs a Song Mode!!!

Also, if the programmer can make it easier for the edge of screen swiping for those with certain cases to access that function. With my current case I have little to know issues accessing notification and control centre, but cannot access the side screens within this app. PLEASE MAKE THE SWIPE AREA LARGER!!!

I would also appreciate better and more sample chopping options, such as grid chopping. I'd also like to see a Timestretch feature added.

As of right now functionality is very poor. Would like iMPC to be beyond MPC 60 status!

If all these issues get addressed soon, I see no reason why this couldn't be a 5 star app. Right now it's not even worth the sale price.

  • One problem

Give us the option to take an external sample and chop it automatically to the 16 pads. Workflow takes way too long otherwise. Do this and this app will be a 5 star favorite for sure.
  • Dear akai,

Why on earth wouldn't you make it possible to delete samples... Without being able to do so, I'm going to have a massive chunk of my phones memory dedicated to samples i will never use again..please make an update to correct this. Please. This app has so much potential to be amazing. It is a great app but things like not being able to delete samples make it impossible to fully appreciate. Also if this app had a chop shop for samples like a real mpc it would be the most amazing app ever.. So please akai review these problems I know experienced mpc users every where are asking the same thing and would be so thankful to see this app become the amazing interface it has the potential to be. Thank you
