Last Update Was 3 Years Ago Going on 4.

So I’ve been using this app for quite a few years. I have never had a single complaint with it. I was actually just recommending it to a close friend of mine and realized it was last updated 3 years ago. The fact this app hasn’t been updated in that long and still works as well as it does truly speaks to the care and quality the Devs put into this App. I haven’t noticed any bug issues, nor have I noticed any stability issues. Even though it hasn’t been updated in 3 years going on 4 years, if you need an AdBlocker that is extremely reliable and works well, this is the one to get!

Just wow-Adblock Service App Review - 5 Stars

I just have to express my heartfelt gratitude to the creators of the Adblock app. You've truly transformed my digital experience! For just $1.99, this app has made such a significant impact on my everyday life, and I couldn't be more thankful.

Being someone who enjoys spending time online and playing various game apps, the constant barrage of ads used to be a real nuisance. But thanks to Adblock, that's all in the past. It's incredible how effectively this app blocks ads not just on websites, but also within the apps I use daily. Playing games and using my favorite apps is now so much more enjoyable without those pesky interruptions.

The seamless experience that Adblock provides is something I really appreciate. Everything runs smoothly, and my focus isn't constantly being pulled away by unwanted ads. It's like a breath of fresh air every time I open my apps or browse the web.

To the team behind Adblock, thank you for creating such a fantastic app. It’s made my digital life so much more pleasant and streamlined. I wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone tired of dealing with intrusive ads. You’ve earned every bit of this five-star review!

Maybe needs an update

This app worked well but doesn’t seem to be blocking a lot the ads in the same games I play…

Only works for safari

Basically only works for safari, and some apps, but will stop working if the website has an adblock detector.

so so

Doesn’t block YouTube or twitter ads which are the WORST

Impossible to cancel Adblock subscription.

Adblock does indeed block adverts but according to Adblock l have a ‘free account’; so why do they take £9.95 each month from my bank account? So I tried to contact them to cancel my ‘subscription’. Adblock make it impossible to contact them. I had to contact my bank to stop Adblock taking money out of my account. Adverts are annoying but Adblock is like a protection racket; once you’re in you can’t get out. Be warned.

Blocks ads on apps

It’s not the most user-friendly app, but it’s worth the initial setup - I’ve got a few apps that show more adverts than content. This app blocks them all.

Best ad blocker ever

This ad blocker can block all ads on apps and browsers if you want it too, you can edit which ads are blocked and which aren’t. I bought this thinking it was probably a scam but it turned out to be the best vpn and ad blocker I’ve ever used. It is also insanely cheap and you don’t have to pay for a subscription or anything other than the app itself.

Works! - but is heavy on the battery.

This works as intended - for those that don't understand how it works, should look up DNS blocker files or websites to import DNS host-file batches from. I have over 100k websites added, and it works a charm, all locally, and across even in-game ads that fetch from websites too. (Including annoying banner ads).
Only ones that it doesn't block would be the type that you can't block via a address/DNS, but that's a given obviously, and no adblocker app can block non-address ads (such as built-in offline ones for a game's other products) anyway.

The bad news is I definitely see a heavy battery usage (check Battery in settings) by the app, and it definitely puts strain on the phone by comparison to something such as NextDNS, which has a much lighter hand for battery usage, so far it seems.
I would say it cuts about 30-40% of my normal battery usage, which for a regular user like me, is pretty sucky.

If this was the only one available, I'd bear with it, but NextDNS's 100k queries a month free plan might work fine for me, and it'll drain less on my phone. Worst case scenario I use this app for the few days the NextDNS runs out.

I'm not sure why this makes the battery drain faster by blocking loads - you'd think that would make it drain less battery, by the claims of many other ad-blocker apps I've seen (of which I've passed over - 98% of them are safari extensions and I don't use safari) so I'm not sure why this one chews my battery so much.

Interestingly even going from Disabled to Enabled, that loading bit as it turns on the settings, eats about a 5-8% and makes my phone battery heat up as the battery jumps down - no idea why, but it's weird. Then once it's on, the battery usage is accelerated by 1.5x-3x the amount.

Long review, but it does exactly what it says for being able to locally block domains via VPN settings (not compatible with VPNs btw! Turning on a VPN disables this, unlike Lockdown, but Lockdown sucks because you have to manually add addresses to block 1 by 1, and has a paywall for their own rather paltry list of to-block domains, which you can find better lists online anyway)
You can also import lists from host files and online sites (but can't do so from a local host file or text file on your phone which is weird to me)
The downside is the heavy battery usage, and the fact that unlike NextDNS and Lockdown, it locks VPN settings to only be usable with itself.
If those two things could be changed or improved upon, that would make this app by far the best imo, and well worth anywhere from 3-10 dollars for the functionality.

The heavy battery usage however makes me limit this to a 3 stars, as it's a rather chunky cost for what it does, in such a way I don't quite understand why it strains the battery the way it does.

That's all I have to say. Cheers.

Not working.

I use it on my iPad when I play games and it doesn’t block any ads.
