Com wifi

I have got several customers using this app now and it works fine. you need some networking experience to set it up but that's just like anything now.

Useful

We use this app to part arm the system every night once we're settled down, it's worked well for a few months now. Recommend encryption (which isn't on by default) and strong passwords though!

Desperately needs updating

Really needs updating. Still buggy and slow and often have problems. I really wouldn't rely on this to tell me if my alarm actually went off.

Good to see

Unlike some reviews I will be constructive with my approach

This App is slightly clunky, but most of the time it's down to the device being used and the network coverage
I recently setup this app on 4 devices, and they all connect to the system ok, I noticed that one of the devices had low signal and also was generally slow at opening all its apps and functioning them, all other devices were great !
Another thing I noticed was when you close the app it will state closing please wait, however you are better to close the app down after in the background.
This will let you connect straight away to the app no problem.
If you do not do this you will find connection issues, and also no display on the keypad once connected.
All apps start somewhere and this is not bad giving the functions you can do using it.

Can be frustrating

I am an engineer and install these a lot for people.
It's certainly not smooth ride.
Sometimes it works straight away, other times it doesn't.
It can be annoying when you have to explain to the customer if it fails to connect, close it down completely and re open. :-s
lol. Bangs head against wall.

Really poor

Just had a new alarm installed and have nothing but problems with this app not connecting. Normally have to quit the app (double tap, swipe up) and restart it. Not quite the experience I was hoping for. Really dated app...

Embarrassingly bad

I write software for a living and I would cringe to release something this poor. Once you have managed to get it working (which is tricky due to inaccurate instructions in the manual) you find that the app is clunky, buggy, crashy, and unintuitive. The entire premise of this app is to replicate a cheap keypad with a two line display on a modern smartphone. It is like going back two decades and using my first mobile phone, a Nokia 3210, all over again.. but with much smaller buttons.

I question the security of this app too, given that you are required to punch a hole in your firewall to use it, and there is research online that finds a lack of encryption in the communications. I recommend connecting to this via a VPN rather than punching a hole in your firewall.

The old alarm business is going to be turned on its head by the startups like Nest, Canary, etc. With app offerings like this, it will be sooner rather than later. We can only hope.

Unusable

The app is just unusable. If i had known had bad the app was then I would have bought a different alarm system. Will never buy this make again. So difficult to setup and so confusing to use day to day.

Absolute rubbish

UI is rubbish, app keeps crashing, the 0 features it does have hardly ever work. The whole panel display looks cheap and ugly. Nowhere near up to the standards in looks, features and app stability to today's standards and compared to other apps. School kids could make a better job of it seriously texecom sort your dev team out! No easy way to arm/disarm alarm and no easy way to setup email alerts/notifications using the app. Would give a 0 rating if I could as even a 1 would suggest there was some sort of app stability/good feature. Really frustrating

Awful - other alarm companies much better

Very disappointing, UI obviously hasn't been updated in a very long time. Clunky to use - certainly wouldn't use it everyday. Arm/disarm controls buried within app when should be on the first screen.

I hope Texecom realise that apps are now a core part of the product not just a gimmick.
