Have played this app for years - overall solid
Does partner/opponent bower play require upgrading? Yes, but the game is free of bugs and game play is quick, which I much prefer. I’m up to 3,500 games played and my stats are clearly better than the bot opponents. My game winning % is 65% and trick winning % is 54%, which points out the AI bot players are not as good as I am. My game play clearly results in more 2 point hands and more sets than the all-bot opponents. BTW, I play the game straight up - no Stick the Dealer or Go Alone With Help.Show lessEuchrePlayer#1
Partner’s Bower play is horrible
While this seems to be one of the better Euchre apps, you’re partner will cost you games often!!
You’re partner does not understand when to call trump unless it has a loner hand. It doesn’t understand how to use bowers appropriately. Frankly, I think it has a bad handle on playing trump period!
Would be much better if developers understood Euchre or program was designed to learn. I have no idea what that would cost to program, but a game shouldn’t be this frustrating, and your partner shouldn’t be playing against you!Show lessScott4262
Good Training Version and More
I have been using this Euchre app for years and, aside from a couple of flaws, I feel it is perhaps the best version for someone to learn the game. I play it a lot to pass idle time. Others have mentioned that there are times when the AI opponents clearly know the player’s (and his/her AI partner’s) cards. The other annoying thing I have noticed is that the player’s partner does not void itself of a suit when trump is made, thus making a euchre more likely. It’s one of those old “cardinal rules” of Euchre that was overlooked and which still has validity. I like the full frame size, making the cards easy to see (unlike some other versions that frame the game with a table and other unnecessary visuals). There are enough settings to make some variances, most notably choosing to misdeal if trump is not made or forcing the dealer (screw the dealer) to declare trump. Also, the round can end after four tricks if the the tricks are divided three to one and the fifth trick is moot. That might be somewhat perplexing to a new player, but it speeds up the game. There is also an icon for one’s statistics. In two words: mostly solid.Show lessTeacherDRP
