Change isn’t always good
I’ve been playing FoE for 7 years now. I used to LOVE this game but in the last year INNO seems to be more focused on making this a rich persons game. They rarely do diamond discounts anymore, quest rewards during events are getting minuscule so if you want to get event buildings you need to use diamonds, GE only gives you diamonds during a blue moon and the kicker…GBG diamonds increased 40% but even though they said diamonds would not show up as much but given the increase we’d still collect the same amount of diamonds they grievously exaggerated!!! If you do 500 battles you can count yourself lucky to get diamonds twice at best.
As if these changes and the plethora of ads weren’t enough to put a sour taste in your mouth INNO did an upgrade to their servers 6 months ago or so. Sure! Then why is there a MAJOR lag within 5 minutes of the push for GBG that never used to happen before their upgrade?!
I do love this game but at this point I play more for the connection of friends I’ve made in FoE. I’m hoping that some day INNO will start listening to people’s concerns rather than just pushing out changes regardless of what people say about them in beta 😢Show lessTHDhater

Hi! Forge of Empires is a completely free game and entire content is available free of charge. You can get every building and get to every possible area without spending anything :]. You of course can purchase premium currency in order to speed everything up, but it is in no way required or needed to progress through the game.Used to be fun, now it is pay to win with events.
Been playing this game for five years. It used to be fun and what I would do for the long hours that insomnia plagued me each night. Inno recently changed Guild Expeditions to where you get stupid, useless GE level buildings instead of diamonds as rewards in levels 1-3 with no hope of getting diamonds until level 4 where before you could fairly regularly get a few in 1-3. Used to be that in most of the events, if you were consistent, you could get a fully upgraded building. Now, no matter how hard you try in any of them, you have to shell out thousands of diamonds or serious real life cash to have any hope of getting the fully upgraded event buildings.
I have had friends that have been playing Forge for 10+ years leave because of this b.s. I have gone from playing almost nightly in 10 worlds to being on maybe 1-2 night a week because it just isn’t worth my time anymore. Gone back to reading at night or playing solitaire. Inno can go sit on a flagpole for the “upgrades and changes” it has made. Just as the major video game developers are learning to their financial pain, I and many, many others are not interested in pay to win games. This used to be a fantastic app and I actually had no issues spending money when I wanted something. They built up a large following and now Inno has turned FOE in to a money grab and nothing more. It is ridiculous that you have to watch a video/ long advertisement just to motivate friends/ guildmates. It completely changes the flow of the game and frankly makes me feel like I am waisting my time. Now they have made it even worse where the videos kick you to a web page so you are literally forced to go back and forth before you can close the stupid advertisement. I hate it with a passion. You have incidents sprinkled throughout that show video icons so you have to watch before you can collect those incidents. For events, Inno has made it virtually impossible to get a fully upgraded event building. Noe you need fragments for the last level of buildings. Look at the current event- you have to do all those quests and you used to earn the base for the event building and two levels- now you can earn only one level and you get two dumb portraits. All that work for portraits? They are slapping us in the face with we WANT your MONEY. FOE exists solely to find ways to EXTORT people for THEIR CASH- period!Show lessWatchLookLearn
