Reviews of RunGo

  • Great app in theory, lousy support

Update 1/24: Not sure if this was a joke, but I got an email with a somewhat snarky response from the developer today after reaching out multiple times in OCTOBER. I would now say this app is a borderline scam and would NOT recommend.***

Great app in theory, but I haven’t gotten any support since paying for a premium subscription. It’s possible the app was great before the last big iOS release, but the Contact Us button doesn’t actually work/go anywhere and sending a request on the website just goes to a Zendesk queue that hasn’t been responded to in weeks despite check-ins. Doesn’t sync to Strava

    Developer Response

Hi. Please make sure you have the latest app version. It looks like your version is old, and many issues have since been resolved. If you can't reach us through the Contact Us button, please email us at support@rungoapp.com. We honor all cancellations and fair refund requests. What issue are you having with Strava sync? Please try the "Send to Strava" button, and, if it fails, it should tell you what to do to fix it.
  • Not for people who move to new areas

I had one run with this and directions were wonky. A lot of turn right then immediately turn left no really make a uturn in place of simple right or left turns. I eventually got to where I was going. Decided to subscribe and give another shot. Made a simpler map and thought less complicated. This time it had me completely loss following directions. Would tell me turn on non existent street names or make turns when there was no place to turn…….. If you need turn by turn to run a loop around your block works as expected. If you are in a new area and want to take a run longer than 1000ft that maybe goes outside your neighborhood plan to spend hours loss or trying to find a Main Street to get back home. App is a great college project but not ready for production. At 3.99 maybe you get just enough out of it but no HR integration. I’m sticking to NRC.

Update: Tried again this morning without a map, just run, it turned down my music as if it were going to say something . I paused it to get my music back then when I unpaused I didn’t think to check again. 10 minutes later deeper into run I noticed the app had crashed. No run saved. This app is officially trash deleting from devices. Don’t waste your money or time on this app.
  • Really good but one flaw

I love using this app to make routes but there’s one key issue. You can’t drop waypoints down if your route has already passed through that point. This is really frustrating when trying to make a route that crosses over itself multiple times, or goes down the same road again. Could this be fixed or is it already possible and I’m just not doing it correctly?

    Developer Response

Hi, thanks for using the app. We have to pay our mapping partners for every map request, which is any tap on the map. Even if you don't save the route, we still have to pay. Maps have become very expensive in the past few years. While we still give a good number of map requests for free each month to free users, we had to place a reasonable limit on that so we don't lose a lot of money for free users. You can still use many features of the app at no charge.
