• Barcode Scan improvements. Fetched metadata and book covers, if available, will be retrieved from two sources: Google Books and Open Library. If the book is already in your library, the metadata will be highlighted in yellow and tapping on it will show to the existing reference in the library. • Sort references by Citekey.

• Selecting an export reference style is now menu-based, so you no longer need to change it in Settings first. • Bookends uses a built-in format for exporting to BibTeX. If you need your own version, please obtain and install a BibTeX CSL style. • Fixed a problem where book cover art was not attached to a reference imported via Quick Add. • Fixed a crash that could occur the first time a local library was synced with an existing cloud library. • Fixed a bug when using a CSL style where only the first initial was output when the authors name contained two or more initials in a row.

• Modernized app appearance and menus. • Search All now searches the text in all fields, not just the few shown under the search bar. • Internal Web Viewer uses iOS native downloader for PDFs, so more PDFs should be automatically downloaded. • Autofill from internet for the reference now has an option to manually enter DOI or other identifiers for metadata fetching. • Use journal glossaries when creating a formatted reference. Enable in the Scan & Bib section of Settings. • If a journal glossary is enabled and abbreviations defined in Bookends, an abbreviation entered in the journal field will be expanded to the journal's name. • The demo version will no longer show ads.

• "Copy Link" is now available for references, groups, PDFs, PDF Notecards, and PDF selected text. The link is in a Markdown link format, and can be pasted into other apps in iOS. • Citekey options can be configured in Settings. Bookends can generate citekeys when importing references. • Added the ability of Bookends to extract and export PDF annotations (Pro feature only). • Redesigned how new libraries are added: via the “+” menu or switching between them via the library options menu (“...“).
