Overpriced Taxi Rides on Vieques – Consider Renting Instead
The taxi app on Vieques works, but be prepared for very high prices across the island. In general, taxis here are expensive, but nighttime fares are especially extreme. For very short distances (around 3–5 km), we ended up paying as much as $40, which feels excessive and hard to justify.
If you’re planning to move around frequently, especially in the evening, I would strongly recommend renting a car or a golf cart instead. It’s much more flexible and can save you a significant amount of money.
Overall, the app functions fine, but the pricing situation really takes away from the experience.

Pass on this app.
Never any cars available and once they cancelled my ride and called to say it’s because the cars that day were booked in advance. The other day, I booked 2 hours in advance and I get a voicemail an hour later saying cars won’t be available. Trash.
Hard to trust
Scheduled a pick up at 9:30am and the driver didn’t start heading to me until 9:31. That’s the only time I’ve been able to successfully get a ride with the app. Every other time it searches for a driver and never assigns one to you. I was also charged $2 for one of my attempts at booking a ride and then cancelling because I waited so long with no success. Sad because Vieques needs a better way to move people and this isn’t it.

Do not use.
Booked a taxi ride to and from a destination in advance and for both routes it gave me a driver and everything well time comes and says all taxi drivers are busy so we couldn’t make it to the destination and then when cancelling the ride back they charged me 2$ for a cancellation fee. Couldn’t do the one thing we wanted to do on the island. Do not trust to get a taxi from this app especially if you’re in a time crunch.
