  • Useless App

This app hasn’t been updated for over a year - come on Octane! Won’t connect to machine anymore and calls to support are also long waits and useless as well. Spend good money on a nice machine and it’s “so long and thanks for the money”. I love their elliptical, but get with the program and push out nice app with great functionality like some of your competitors.
  • Useless App - don’t bother.

I have to give at least 1 star to post, but this app deserves zero stars! I was reluctant about the app before I downloaded it, based on reviews, but was convinced by the sales person at the store that this app is great and works extremely well. Not the case. It worked fine for about a month and now will not sync with the machine. I’ve tried deleting it and reloading - nothing. Very disappointed!!
  • Lacks utility

I’ve had my Q47xi for a month. No problems using the app. It syncs right away for me, at least so far. However, I’m finding the app lacks utility. I feel users should be able to create custom workouts and edit workouts as well. Just today the app recorded the same workout twice. Whatever the reason, it should at last be possible to delete something like that. Also, the app works with Apple Health, but only when using the app on iPhone, not iPad. Workout history will sync, after the fact, but for some reason this doesn’t sync to health. And why there’s no ability to connect Apple Watch is baffling. The app is free, but it’s 500 dollars to upgrade to the xi console, so there’s no excuse for this app not to be better.
  • Won’t connect anymore

I installed this version. Connected to my Q37xi updated the head unit. Did a workout a couple times. Now yesterday it refuses to connect anymore. When I tap connect the app spins maybe 5 seconds then times out and provides very unhelpful “help”. Cmon people let’s get this app fixed.

I love my octane elliptical but this app is a big let down. Looking at the frequency of app updates Octane must have outsourced the app and probably has to pay a third party for every fix and update. I have to think if this app was actually done in house we would see much more frequent bug fix updates.

OCTANE, buck up, buy the source back, and hire some people to do this in house full time! Are you listening to these reviews!?
  • Works well with my Qx47i

Just recently bought the elliptical and have no problems using it with the app. It Installed easily on my iPad. Then it detected my console and did a firmware update. I was able to do this while the iPad was about 5 feet from the machine.

Yes, I’ve used the app for several workouts. No problems. And I really like how it interacts with the machine. I believe it can also control the resistance levels during a session to give you automated sessions.

The app has really made my workouts enjoyable.
  • Connectivity

I have an XR6xi - Bike works great but It recently stopped connecting to internet. I called customer support who answered phone within 1 minute. He asked a couple of info questions and had me run a brief diagnostic. He was able to determine it was a software issue and is sending me a USB stick to fix the issue. I’ll update when I receive the stick to see if it solves the issue. But for now

    Easy to reach
    Professional
    Responsive.
  • Not working. Bluetooth, CrossFit training, and health stats no longer sync.

Customer support is either unavailable or unable to troubleshoot. Currently using a 4 month old Octane Fitness Q47xi with iPhone 11 Pro Max and up to date iOS version as of today’s date. If you are thinking about financially supporting this company, I highly recommend you do extensive research about your personal and technological needs before proceeding.
  • Horrible app

Disconnects from machine without notice. Once disconnects, cannot pickup workout in process on machine. At this day and age, this is unacceptable. Furthermore, previous iterations of the app allowed you to edit the workout if anything happened, i.e., disconnection for whatever reason. With last update, this feature is not available (why?). So, now I have a list of workouts that have anywhere between 1k to 1.5-2 miles when I’ve run at least 3.5 miles each workout... again unacceptable especially for the price you pay for the machine... Great machine, however, with the shortcomings of the app, I would think twice about purchasing the machine
  • Never Connects

I agree with the other comments; why is this machine built around the app, yet connecting to the app is pure luck.

The machine connected fine for a couple of days, but now it’s hit or miss. I could have saved a lot of money by purchasing an elliptical without app connectivity!

I’m not sure how a company is so incompetent and has made such poor hiring decisions. It’s extremely obvious they are not hiring knowledgeable programmers.
  • Very disappointed!

When you spend a large amount of money on a machine from a company that markets this app as one of the selling points, you would expect the app to work properly! Even though my machine is connected, it doesn’t communicate with the app. None of the workouts work as they are supposed to. If I worked at Octane, I would be embarrassed to even have this out there until it is fixed.
