Fixing the errors
If you can’t use the application, check the top-left corner. If you see a label such as "DEV," "QA," or something similar, go to the "About" section in the hamburger menu. Then, select "Developer Environment" and choose the "PROD" option. The application should work fine after that. For some reason, DMV CA developers occasionally assign certain users to the development environment without explanation.

Error
I was able to open the app and use it the first day I downloaded it. But only that one time. I’ve tried accessing the app and it just says “error 404”. What’s the point of moving everything online or on the app when it doesn’t work!
They have an app but it fails to work
Nothing short of frustrating when they create an app and it does not work. Even with “bug fixes” the original version worked but this new version does not when it comes to renew registrations. Its a simple routine thing we all need to do but it does not work. Entered the plate number and last 5 of the vin and it says “check your information” super frustrating when that registration is coming due soon.

Disappointed
It looks like someone had a deadline to meet and it was put up no matter what. I was hoping that it was better than the website. Both of them had things that were difficult to find. It is just a little bit better than nothing.
DMV Website
Not a great website lets you go all the way through the transaction to put your renewal registration in the cart and then it won’t let you pay. DMV really needs to fix their website because it’s worthless. If you want to pay your registration online on the day it’s due or even a few days before hand.

Built by 3 year olds
Can’t even open the app anymore it’s a waste of storage on your phone my gf also can’t open it on her phone either so you incompetent mfrs better get to making an app that actually works especially if it’s the official dmv app how is it actually this bad
Greatest app ever
It took me a minute to set everything up, but I can access my current CDL, my ID that expired in 2002 (and I no longer need but can still see), and every vehicle registered to me and all the registration info. This is such an awesome app, I am blown away. You can do so many things from this app, there’s almost no reason at all to go to a DMV office. I haven’t seen if you can upload documents yet, but I already have my Real ID so it’s not a problem. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU California DMV!!

iPhone
After downloading the app, it will not open in my iPhone 14. After turning the phone on and off several times, and deleting the app from the phone and re-downloading it, it still does not open.
What’s the point of this app?
All the functions are web based and take you the DMV’s website regardless. Seems pointless.
A nice feature would be to integrate renewals (ie driver license, registration, etc) into the app with customizable notifications when you need to renew.
Seems underbaked. Glad our tax dollars are going to good use!

Can't make an appointment online
It's impossible to make an appointment through the app. After I finish my application for a permits test, the screen goes completely white and I have to restart everything again.
