Old Version So Much Better
The old version of this app was stellar. It was much easier to navigate and didn’t prompt you to sign up for a pro membership before you can even get to your search. Wish I didn’t upgrade for a less superior app. Oh well, guess I’ll find a new one!
Very handy
After a two week trip up to the highlands I got this app to start keeping track of my tastings. I now understand much better what I like and keeping track of my favourites is very easy with this app. Also really useful to be able to create lists of stuff I want to try soon. Would recommend this app!

Unbearably slow and riddled with bugs
The Distiller app is somehowsignificantly slower than the website, which is already very slow to begin with. For example, it will regularly take 5–10 seconds to load a simple page, like the homepage, one search results page, or even the page for a single spirit. It's like they don't do any performance testing at all...
The app also regularly throws a bug where all functionality just fails completely and it claims the device has no internet connection. Ironically, this occurs both on LTE with 5/5 full bars and on wi-fi in eyesight of the router. No other apps or websites have this issue; even the Distiller site in the browser works fine. Seeing this bug daily makes the Distiller app maddening to use and often makes it unusable entirely.
They have removed a lot of features from the desktop to site, like the ability to create and rename and delete lists, and instead you get prompted to use the mobile app and pay $48/year to be able to do so — and then the mobile app just fails to load lists entirely. I had Pro once and it wasn't worthwhile because it comes with so few features that actually matter. Ever since I downgraded from Pro back to regular is when all of these bugs started happening... it really feels like they have never tested this scenario before or something...

Very useful but app has some issues
I’ve been looking for something like this to view reviews and keep track of my own impressions. It works for that, but somehow the app disables autocorrect, which makes writing anything a challenge. And popping up an ad for the pro version EVERY time you write a review is a bit much. That all but guarantees I’ll close the pop up automatically and never even think of upgrading.

Useful App
Being a newbie to bourbon whiskey drinking over the past few months, my initial tastings/purchases came via word of mouth. After finding out about the Distiller app, I’ve had a lot of fun while gaining a lot of knowledge through the app. Love the descriptions of the flavor profiles of my favorite brands - the graph is great! The expert reviews seem to be accurate for the most part, so finding different brands that boast my favorite flavor profiles immediately go on the Wish List - which is helpful when shopping. Another reviewer mentioned adding a way to search for brands utilizing the different aspects of these flavor profiles, which I agree with - this would be a great tool and a great time saver. But with that being said, a lot of the fun within the app is just browsing brands. All in all, this app is entertaining and educational. Here’s a big thumbs up - thanks.

Can no longer log in after update
This app used to be great. I don’t mind the updated UI. However, since the update, Sign in with Apple is completely broken. I get an error every time. I have not been able to access my lists in over a month. Very close to deleting the app. I’ve already contacted support and was told they were aware of the issue and working on a fix. Frustrating that something like this wasn’t thoroughly tested before releasing the update. And even more frustrating that this issue is taking so long to fix. I would think a known login issue would be prioritized and resolved quickly.
Edit: Now going on THREE months with Sign in with Apple being broken. Have been unable to log in or access any of my data during this time. At this point, I’m assuming my data is most likely gone. Will be looking for a new app to replace Distiller. Extremely disappointing how quickly this app has gone downhill.
