Genuinely basic app

I’ve been told food banks have to pay £300+ to be placed on here

Its set up like a first year COMPSCI uni app task, I’m shocked anyone could ask people to pay anything to be added to this

Food banks are there to pick up the vulnerable who the government abandons so removing anything from the limited resources they have is callous imo

Unethical

This app charges foodbanks £300+ to register for two years. It is owned by a Conservative MP. Profiting from foodbanks is unethical.

exploitative

downloaded this app in good faith, only to discover that in order to be listed on it, food banks are required to pay £360 to a company owned by the newly elected conservative mp for penistone and stocksbridge. trust a tory to find a way of capitalising on poverty. i will stick to donating via my local supermarkets!

A scam

Can’t see your local food bank on here? Probably because they declined to pay the £360 subscription fee the app designers demand.

Absolutely shameful attempt to profit from the hardship that food banks represent.

Run by a Tory MP - do not use

This app is owned by the husband of newly elected Tory MP Miriam Cates. They are making money off food banks while creating the need for them. Do not use this app!

Finding your local foodbank

The foodbank is good. I can find out the items it is looking for.
Unfortunately Postcode and GPS is a very poor system.
Going down the list and find close town works thankfully.

Easy to use

Good way of finding which items are really needed

MissC

The idea is a fantastic idea. However the app isn’t updated regularly enough which is sad

Good idea - terrible outworking

I use this on my iPhone but it it really poor to look at. If an item is more than a certain amount of characters it doesn't wrap or scroll or anything. Why not have standard text handling and a better place for announcements etc?

Great Effort and Brilliant Idea

This app is very simple and effective, with a list of priority items that are needed. I find it very helpful in ensuring even the smallest donation is effective. What are priority items may surprise you. Great use of technology! Bravo!
