Reviews of Support by Sony

  • Sony product works well, but repairs/battery replacement . . .

The BlueTooth speaker sounds great, but the retail outlet doesn’t offer repair services. The Geek Squad let me down.
  • Better than nothing

Someone at Sony (and Denon, Panasonic, etc. etc) needs to take Library Science 101. Organizing and presenting research materials properly is simple, and the methodology has been in use since printing began. Videos are fine for some training purposes, but ridiculous as reference materials. For centuries, users have been able to find the exact book or paper they want in libraries with hundreds of thousands of books using the card catalog. If I'm looking for one book, I don't want to waste time wading through a bunch of material about the author's grandfather or his hobbies. Disks replaced spools of magnetic tape because they gave the user random access. Videos are sequential, can't by nature be indexed, take longer than reading, and are cluttered with irrelevant information. A reference is the simplest kind of one-to-one flat database, organized in hierarchically logical manner, indexed in whatever manner makes sense. Computers have brought huge improvements, but the purpose and logic are the same today as they were 3,000 years ago. This app's ability to retrieve and update the latest information is a huge plus, and the interface is clean. But it still hasn't reached the sophistication of a system found in any high school library. Surely Sony can reach that bar.
  • Has potential

This app could have real potential to help a person understand a Sony product, but falls short.

If I find the answer to a specific question, I can’t tag the article as a favorite; I also have no way to forward the article to text or email! Sup with that? Why cant I print an article?

The creator of this app has the answers to many questions, but has dramatically limited the method in which the answers can be used. The app has potential, but falls way short.
