Website is way better

Downloaded this before heading to the Olympics as it was recommended for visitors, although I have no idea why. The past few Olympics I’ve been using the official website to follow events and it’s just a much better experience, especially since you can have multiple tabs open and don’t need to scroll sideways. The app just stays blank (no error messages) if you have internet issues, and while I went through dozens of events every day to bookmark my top sports, it turns out you have to use the “favourites” setting to get notifications on any of them. If you navigate to an athlete’s page the navigation buttons disappear, and every time you go back to the schedule from an event the list jumps around. Poor design.

Buggy, with bizarrely woefully clunky interface. More interested in capturing personal data!

Interface unfriendly and chaotic! Apparently no thought given as user interaction. Have to really fight it to get any useful information. Much simply doesn't work - what does is buggy! Forced to create login or absolutely nothing works! Then, on top of all these, there are intrusive adverts!! Neither results nor alert notifications work, only 'broadcast-style' generalised notifications - seemingly when they feel like it.

Incidentally, the few 5* reviews appear entirely fake placements by the developers attempting to game the system.

Behind the curve…

In this day and age, you would think the app would have a more user friendly interface with options for customizing. Recognizing this is an international affair, time zone clarification and customization should be a given. Being able to customize a default to hide results would be nice for events that occur earlier in a “day”. This will allow for later viewing, without spoilers, during a more appropriate time of day in my own time zone. Yes…I can avoid outside spoilers when desired.

Not great

Not intuitive at all, changing the day on the schedule seems to only work some of the time. Just overall structurally not well thought out.

Can't even select my country

Can't use the app because the dropdown to select my location doesn't work in ipad

Pretty good!

The previous Olympics app was basically useless but this one is really nice. I’ve had a lot of bugs with the ‘back’ button, often getting stuck on a page and needing to restart. I still give the 5 because the info provided is delightful to an Olympic fan like me. The grouping of events, filters, bracket/pool views, and athlete bios are well designed and executed. I’m on this every day!

Horrible User Experience

The fact that there is no way to sort by your time zone. The times for the app day “my time” or Paris time but are in fact in Japan but gives you no indication of this. You can’t simply sort and look at current events going on and any of the sorting or favorite features don’t help you search for relevant content any better. The fact that this is the app for such an amazing stellar world event is mind blowing that they wouldn’t take the time to get the main point of having an app like this correct is just mind boggling.

Opening this app it’s completely unusable and it actually makes me mad.

Thank you for your feedback.  We appreciate you highlighting these areas for improvement and are actively working on enhancements. Your input is valuable as we strive to make the app better for everyone.

Several Issues with the schedule tab

1. The schedule shows you events in UTC, you should be able to select a time zone you are in to avoid confusion for when something starts

2. The favorites section is pointless, I spent so much time selecting teams/events I was interested in. But I’m not able to filter the schedule by my favorites. I can select a single favorite by tapping though 5 windows, but what’s the point of making it a favorite if it is not easily accessible?

3. The live schedule needs so much work, if you go to view the schedule it shows the whole day of events, even after they have passed and concluded. I should be able to go to the schedule and see right away what is currently happening, not scrolling down the whole page just to see what I’m interested in.

4. Add an option to watch the events live? Why not add a cable provider to be able to watch live streams of the event similar to March Madness?

5. I’ve seen others complain about this, no section to view rosters/athletes information. So much of the Olympics is about the athletes stories and their journeys to get there. You dropped the ball there pun intended.

App on a budget.

Clearly been thrown together on a low budget. Lacking any kind of customisation. Why can’t I select my country and get notifications when my competitors are involved or when they win a medal and see a schedule of when my country is involved. Why can’t I select favourite sports to see in a different view. The schedule is useless as it’s too big, it needs more control over settings beyond basic filters.
Given the money sloshing about at the IOC this is really very poor

Filtering no good

How hard is it to make it so you can filter events properly. It does have the filteroption, it's just that it often doesn't work properly. Also for things like the swimming, where heats have been run and tonight's final has been determined, the app really should have the full starting line up and lanes ready to go at the press of a button. But it doesn't. On to another one...
