  • Nice updates

It's been a few years since I last used this app and found myself back on this site. It is vastly improved in features, and there a lot more members. It's a cool app because it enables you to reach out to someone with a song.
  • Great idea should be the new tinder for like minded people

Great way to connect with new people through music , find gig and party buddies also good for dates.
I wish I could filter by type of music generally talking not just by artist to define the search especially if you are not into mainstream artists.
I would love to see more details of events and people who attend

  • Great concept, but the website is better

I really love the idea behind this app, but you seem to be able to navigate better on the website. So, it would be great if they added more features to the app, like adding notifications and actually making it easier to match. I’ve never gotten that page saying I’ve matched with someone. I cannot stress enough that they need to fix the matching system! I’m only able to find people that have been online recently by going onto the webpage which can be a bit frustrating having to go back and forth... please, please, please include an algorithm in the matching system that excludes people who haven’t been online recently! That or have the accounts deactivated after a certain period of time! Another thing would be great to include better search filters! I would so love to keep this app, but it’s almost useless compared to the website...

  • Tastebuds.

Only been on TASTEBUDS for just over a week and it's great you can speak to someone straight the way and with something in common , the same taste in music and you can send each other music videos as well with a message , try it out folks , so far so good .
  • Last online Over a month ago

This app will not tell you that most of the people you will match with haven’t touched it in “over a month ago” unless you go to their website. They also make you pay for messages, but they don’t tell you that either. The matching isn’t the best because it will show you plenty of people who don’t like anything you do.

It’s a great concept, but if you ask me it’s executed poorly. Somebody make an app that doesn’t kill off its userbase like this one did.

  • Love the idea

I always love meeting people that share similar taste in music... I usually fall for them harder. I haven’t had any luck on tastebuds unfortunately :( I get almost no matches, and the ones I do get, never respond. I live in the Bay Area and there does seem to be a rather big selection of people around here. It’s just that it seems like nobody really uses the app. I’m really bummed because all of my favorite artists are on there I would truly love to meet someone through music but I don’t think it will ever happen to me :(

  • App used to be good...

Over the years ALOT of the functionality has been removed from this app. Ironically, this includes being able to search for and match with others based on specific bands and tastes which is the whole point of this app. For example, I listen to heavy metal bands. Previously I was able to search for other people who like the same bands. However, now I’m left with a carousel similar to Tinder or any of the other swipe dating apps with random users of drastically different music tastes than mine.

If you want to get the most mileage out of your Tastebuds experience, use the desktop site.

  • Great idea, but no one turned up to the gig

A little glitchy and lagging but not bad. No way to undo an accidental skip. A ‘message read’ or ‘user last active’ would be helpful, there just seems to be no one there. And ability to search/match specific bands/artists would be good in the app version.
  • Refreshing approach to online dating

I’ve only just started using this app so it’s early days but it’s looking good so far. Nice idea to use music to find new friends and possibly more. I like that you can just send a song to someone with a few words as well if you like. A much better ice breaker than just saying ‘hi’....I seem to be getting plenty of potential matches too that are fairly local to me so we’ll see how it goes.

  • Good dating app for music lovers

Could do with a few updates though:
    - more specific area search
    - easier navigation between pictures
    - having the questions we answered actually appear with responses
