  • Best program to progress towards fluency

I have tried most of the language learning softwares and although they all have some positives, for me, Fluenz has been the best.
I am making real progress and , for the first time, I have the courage to speak to other Spanish speakers. The introduction of new material alongside reviewing what has come before is the best.
    Highly recommend this program.

Thank you for your kind words. We hope the next review is in the language you are learning!! :)
  • Great App

Fluenz is very different from other apps I have used. I started out with all the usual ones and felt like I was not progressing. I like the pacing and the format. I think the video explanations are fantastic. I'm finally starting to understand how to use "ser" and "estar"!! Gracias, Fluenz team. (I saw in the Fluenz community that the Fluenz team had asked for folks to post reviews, and so here I am. They have been very responsive on customer support, and I feel like it is a team that really cares about language learning, hence my review).

  • Excellent

Used it for Italian and Spanish. It worked! I could even understand directions.
Came back to it rice over years, still had access.
  • Amazing!!! app and the only best one so far

This app is so amazing i’ve brought The Spanish language back in 2018 and it’s so helpful an is far better than any other app that I use, Rosetta Stone is joke compared to this and the attention to detail the videos and the learning sessions are amazing I picked up on the spelling and speaking so quickly and I say this app has been very useful Sonia does an amazing job. Once I finish the Spanish I will pick up another language from this app again! 🙌🏻😊

  • Lessons are a little too long

I would give this app 5 stars, I think the teaching style is better than many other language learning apps out there. The one problem I have with it is the lessons are ridiculously long it takes 30 minutes, minimum, to finish a lesson a day(maybe I’m just slow) . I think the lessons should be shorter but if you want more practice you can chose that.

  • App is awful

I love the teaching style and learn so much when the lessons actually work. But the app crashes so unexpectedly. Downloaded lessons work one day then randomly turn buggy without audio or video. Incredibly frustrating to be making real progress, then not be able to keep it up due to malfunctions.

  • Great format and explanations, needs a few fixes for the iPad

I really like this program and how it’s set up. It is great to hear native (I assume) French speakers and that they don’t speak too quickly. Also, I really like that they are REAL people speaking (thus far) and not cartoon voices. It’s great when Sophie breaks down the sentences and explains the intricacies. I LOVE that Fluenz isn’t a competition between others who are learning. I had a year of that with Duolingo and while I learned a lot from that app, I got tired of the competitiveness as well as the cartoon voices that appeared later in the sessions.

    Some suggestions for Fluenz improvement:
1- When you have to type out the sentence that the speaker says, how in the world does an English speaker know that Emile is actually Émile? If you don’t type the accent correctly on this or any word that requires one, you get the sentence wrong and you have to guess what happened because the sentence does a little wiggle. You can select “show the answer” but perhaps highlighting the letter that needs an accent would be helpful.
2- It would be nice to be able to report problems that occur in the session, but there doesn’t seem to be an option. Maybe I missed it. I tried to send a message via the Fluenze support website but it wouldn’t work. The section where you record your own voice doesn’t appear to work on the iPad.
3- You are taught several ways to ask a question, but when you are supposed to write it in French from the English sentence, they only want one version, and you have to guess which one. Example: using Est-ce que versus just putting a ? at the end of the sentence.

  • Beautiful set up

The Spanish gave me solid fundamentals. It’s really up to the user how fast or well the learning or retention is seen or able to be applied. I love it. I can get in and out of trouble in almost every environment when it comes to Spanish now. If I focused I would be literally fluent. I live close to Mexico so for me immersion reallllly forced the utilization of what I learned out of me. It’s very helpful to take away your own options. Practice practice practice. Buenas suerte
