  • Excellent app

This is an excellent app and I am not sure why people have issues with it. I use it on my iPad, iPhone and iMac with not problems synchronizing. I have finished levels 1-3 and am 1/3 way through level 4. Just came back from Spain and I was able to converse and understand. I work with a local university professor to converse and she says I am doing amazingly well for 5 months of Spanish lessons.

  • Best language learning curriculum anywhere

Fluenz has the best language learning curriculum of any language class I've ever taken. Rosetta Stone is a waste of money. DuoLingo is incomplete. With Fluenz you will start actually learning to use the language from day one. Everything is in the context of a sentence. You don't learn to say useless things like "the dog is on the table", you learn by using the language to make sentences. Huge amount of great audio. Way cheaper than taking a class and probably better curriculum than most classes.

  • Perfect!

It's working perfectly for me, even with limited internet sometimes. The lessons are beautifully formatted and work as expected. Love the app! As a side note, it sometimes (only happened a couple times) lags when I click the "speak" button in listen and repeat exercise. But after a few tries it resumed functioning again. Thanks Fluenz!

  • Excellent!

(Audio Hint: for those who didn't have audio when you hit play, make sure your ringer is not on mute. That's what happened to me.)

I've had my Fluenz Mandarin for the last couple years and I'm so excited that the iPad and iPhone apps exist now. I actually bought a surface laptop in order for me to use their PC version like a tablet after using Rosetta Stones iPad app years ago. I am MUCH more happy with the Fluenz program than Rosetta Stone. I give them huge kudos and credits, thank you for making an amazing program.

  • Great for streaming but unreliable for offline use

App works fine for streaming lessons but offline use is a hit or miss. Offline lessons either download quickly or never at all. What I’m left with is basically playing Russian roulette when deciding whether I should download a lesson or not. This is a real shame because this great company who has built such a great product should not ship software like this. Please hire better iOS engineers or tell them to fix their crappy backend. Again, love the desktop product but the mobile app is unreliable.

  • Engaging & Effective

I have been using the app for a month and went through 33 lessons! These are my observations:

    Positive
    1. Lessons are structured in a way that keeps the interest from beginning to end
    2. No matter how hard i tried, i have not found a single mistake
    3. All lesson stages are structured identically, creating a consistent flow
    4. Some rare grammar is oversimplified at the beginning and elegance is somewhat sacrificed for practicality, which helps in communicating faster, but leaner

    Negative
    1. The app NEVER remembers the correct spot where you left off and after a while it becomes cumbersome
    2. I would have liked to see a progress percentage question by question instead of section by section. I think it would be more motivating!

Overall awesome language course and awesome app

  • Great way to learn on train commute

Super happy with this app. I was having trouble finding time to study Fluenz in evenings. Now I use my earphones to study on train to and from work. App works surprisingly well except about 5-10% of the time, when typing long sentences, it doesn't word wrap so can't view the end of the sentence as you type (beginner Spanish 1). That is the only bug I found.

  • Audio not working

The application for osx is excellent. The iPad app however does not have working audio on my device. I've tried rebooting, checked the volume and bluetooth carefully and it definitely is not producing any audio for some reason. Hopefully, this bug gets fixed soon because I think the iPad would be the best device for the fluenz program. iPhone app is even more unusable. Almost nothing works. At least the desktop software and website work.

  • Great language app

I have been waiting a long time for this language program to come to the iPad and iPhones. I have learned three languages using these programs, unfortunately, I have had to bring my computer to use them. This new app makes the program much easier to transport and it works as well as the computer with a few glitches that I am sure they will work out as time progresses.

  • A Gift

I bought this program two or three years ago. The only downside ... it was tied to my desktop at home. Now this gives me incredible portability. And I had a technical issue with the audio (would only work when using earphones which was no big deal) but app support got back to me within minutes and we had four or five e-mail exchanges. If you want something really solid and very portable, this language program is it. It was like an early Christmas gift to get an email last week that the app was available for those who had previously purchased the program. Thanks, Fluenz.
