Palm detection

Good app overall, but palm detection needs to be improved. The palm rejection widget is quite cumbersome, it’s needs to be integrated inside the app.

Awesome!

I’m going to be spending a lot of time with this great calligraphy app! A lot of great features. It works really good on my new iPad Pro with the Apple pencil.

What a WONDERFULLY educational application!

Boy!
What a great way to teach, the almost lost art of, cursive writing. Cursive really needs to be put back into the school system.
I thank the application developers and associates for the wonderful learning experience.
I'm 63 yrs. old and I know that you can never be too young or too old to learn something new.

Awesome app

I'm amazed with this app, I feel that now I can finally lear lettering

Calligraphy HB

I love this app! It is easy to follow and helps with beautiful results!

Too much movement

The product dies not work well when changing between writing with your finger and using a stylus. The area for lettering shifts and move in addiction to zooming in and out.

Novice

Just started using the app. Amazed at how quickly it teaches you to write. Performs as stated.

Excellent app for budding Calligraphers

I have been taking a weekly adult calligraphy course for about 18 months and love it. I find it hard to fit practise (which is the only way to improve) in with the rest of the things I do on a day to day basis. So if I only have a short time to spare, this lovely app saves me digging out all my basic equipment, such as dip pens, ink, paper, ruling equipment, line drawer etc etc and means I can just get straight on with practising the four main scripts. i.e. Foundational, Italic, Uncial and Gothic along with their associated Capitals (Majiscules).
It has a very simple interface and menu and I love it.
I use my Apple Pencil with the app and this makes a real difference from either fingers or more basic styli.

Just to make it clear for anyone looking for design with calligraphy - this app is really for learning & practising the scripts, and not for design purposes.
I also recommend the 'Teach yourself Calligraphy' video app! which is really helpful. Though to be honest, there are already tons and tons of free calligraphy videos out there on the web.

NB: I do agree with the reviewer who looks forward to the app designers using the full capabilities of the Apple Pencil in any future updates. I.e. Using the pressure and tilt etc of the Pencil, ather than the nib width changing purely due to the angle of writing.

Love this app for self teaching beautiful writing

The free fonts and exercises have already helped me practice and self-teach some beautiful fonts, I'm seriously considering buying a package.

Pretty good

I am still deciding if I am going to purchase the full app, but what I have tried so far is good. Just not sure if this is the style of lettering I want to concentrate on, perhaps looking for more modern style of brush lettering, but very good for teaching how to form the letters correctly.
