This is a great app for detailed topographical info and it works with no internet connection. I use it to plan motor cycle rides. You can create waypoints easily at intersections and follow them. You will be located on the map if your device has GPS however this may be delayed. Get out there and use MapToasterShow lessScottzactraveller

Replaces the need for a dedicated GPS unit in a lot of cases. I recommend shelling out the 7bucks for the high res maps. 5 stars.r e m o t e

Great app
Very good and complete with well priced Topo Maps (at additional price) but worth purchasing for the detail. Am yet to assess all the features but the app works well on i8+samoirnz

Clean and Efficient App
Allows you to download the LINZ 1:50,000 maps for the whole of NZ providing superb detail. Tracking, waypoints and exporting GPX files all works well.drjgm2004
Great pocket topo maps!
Whilst a phone app will never replace a full paper map and compass this is a great handy wee tool for quick and dirty checks when out and about! Easy to use and customise to own needs. Love it and use on my laptop too.Robopatrol
Best GPS app for NZ
Love MapToaster and use it daily as a moving map display for flight tracking in the helicopter. I’ve tried many other apps but this is the best. Simple to use but has all the functionality you want. It’s simple to create and export tracks and waypoints or import them. Best of all the display is uncluttered, clear and crisp. Running on the ipad it is so easy to relate it to the terrain around you. Support is great. They reply to emails and have integrated suggestions into the updates. Best out of the topo apps
I've found this to be the better out of the topo apps. It's bug free which you can't say about the other ones. You shouldn't use this as a form of emergency navigation, but I have and it got me out of a serious situation. The tracking and directional indicator is game changer.
