  • Makes wrong phoneme sounds

Coming from a dyslexia specialist, not all sounds on this app are being pronounced correctly. For example, this app is pronouncing the vowel sound /uh/ on the end of the /b/ sound making it sound like /b-uh/. This is very wrong. Several are like this.

    Developer Response

Thanks for your feedback! It doesn't sound like /b-uh/ on my speakers--it sounds like just the /b/ sound. However, I know that some sounds are really difficult to capture on audio without a little bit of a vowel sound, and that may be what you are hearing. Some sounds were recorded up to 100 times, with the professional voice talent very patiently trying different tones and lengths of each sound. When the sounds were chopped off too soon, they were unintelligible. This app is a companion to our Pre-Reading program. We recommend teaching sounds in person whenever possible, and using the app as a review tool as needed. Thanks for trying the app! ~Merry :-)
