Part is great and part needs improvements
I paid for the full membership with meal planning, but am finding the meal planning pretty useless. The exercise portion is great, but I'm now regretting paying for the meal planning because it is not user friendly.
Here's the primary problem. It does not give the user any choice in its meal suggestions and only mostly listens to your preferences when you selected what ingredients you do not want in your meals. For instance someone in my household cannot eat nuts, and every week I get at least one recipe hay still has nuts in it.
Additionally changing out the meals they suggested and already placed on your shopping list can be a hassle because you must exchange each meal individually. If I hate one suggestion and they have it in my meal plan 3 times a week I have to remove each one on its own.
To this company: Your meal planning services need to be changed to take more user input. Maybe change your program to have your users pick from a set of 10 suggested recipes before you place them into a meal plan to reduce dissatisfaction regarding choices and dietary preferences. Let us pick from your nutritious meal choices and save your users much more time. Without the option of choice, I'm feeling like I wasted $60 on this app membership.

I love the app but it’s too expensive
To start off with, I love this app. I’m a recent college grad and I’m trying to lose that “freshman fifteen” that I never got off during school. The meal planning is amazing. I’m a vegetarian but I have always struggled to come up with good meals for myself that have variety. I also have an extreme sweet tooth and I have never been on a work out regime. This is has been an AMAZING last week. However, I’m on a budget and struggle to make rent. Though I recognize that 60 dollars a year is great for this plan I also know that I will probably not use this for a year and I cannot afford 60 dollars, that’s my whole weekly budget. When I signed up I thought that I could switch to a $30/ 3 months plan but now I realize that I was tricked into the $60 plan and the $30 plan is no longer available. I’m contacting customer service but judging by other reviews I’m not sure if they will be helpful.
If you have the money, go for it! I highly recommend.

So much bang for your buck!
I started out wanting to use the app for the workouts. What I found was so much more than I was prepared for. I’ve used the meal planning far more than the exercises and am able to log in my exercises outside of what I have utilized on the app. Being that I am far sighted, the only complaint I have is that the app is no longer viewable on the laptop and I can only see the recipes and workouts on my iPhone. This makes it harder for me to see and read. The workouts are seriously awesome, although the yoga is not my favorite and I have been doing yoga for 20 years now so I have had a lot of instruction. I am combining this platform with other workouts to provide myself an experience that works for me, which would be much more difficult to accomplish without this app. I would use it just for the food. I’ve watched the recipe offerings and options increase dramatically over the last two years. I just wish that I could at least print them out or look at them on a larger screen so I could see them better. I guess I’m just older now and have a harder time than younger people.

Good Workouts, needs improvements.
I’ve been using this app for a week. I love the workouts. The routines change daily and they are super easy to follow with the helpful videos. If there is an exercise that can’t be done because of physical limitations you can exchange it with another equally challenging one.
The only problem I have with this app is logging extra activities. I follow the apps workout but then I run on a treadmill or elliptical after. When I try to enter my time and calories burned, they don’t match what the machine has. The app doesn’t know what level I used on the elliptical or how fast or the elevation I had the treadmill set, but it still gives a preset calories number of calories burned based on time. It’s frustrating because I use this app with another calorie counter app and it’s not accurate. Even though I like this app, I’m going to start searching for one that fits my needs. I would have paid for the upgraded app, but I would still have the same problem. Hopefully the app just needs to be further developed. I will keep it for the workouts, but not the calorie counter.

Best fitness app!!
Meals are so yummy. There are options to do meal prep and a meals with 5 ingredients or less. Obviously other people giving a low rating for this app do not know how to increase the serving size and do meal prep. There are options to log other meals when going out or making something different. I love the short HIIT workouts. Already lost weight and feeling very satisfied !!!!!

Great meal tracker but meh for workouts
Pros:
The meal suggesting is great. The recipes are delicious and the fact that you can tailor it however you want it perfect.
Cons/bugs:
1. The tape measure for workout time doesn't line-up with the actual number. I have an iPhone 7. Simple bug
2. It should import the workouts from Apple health automatically when I open the app. Seems like a no-brainer
3. When I'm already tracking a workout with my iWatch if I start one using the 8fit app it stops my Apple workout with no warning, bad user experience.
3. Videos load so slow on the iWatch, why even have it. Show an animation/gif instead.
4. As a reviewer mentioned, the app should change the haptics on the watch or phone to be over time with a rest interval in-between. Obviously as I get better I'll do more and workout more vigorously. The "just do it as fast as you can" is too ambigious.
5. Ability to add nutrition information when I add my own meals
6. Ability to add custom workouts with the results
7. Constant failures when finishing my workout using the iWatch app and then trying to sync the results. It just says Error connecting, no retry? Come on
All in all great, but need to fix all these bugs so it can just be awesome. I'll continue to use it because the meal part is top notch. That's the only reason you guys are getting 3 stars.

Newbie
Just turned 65 & wanted exercise alone in a private environment. Saw 8fit advert on a billboard & thought I’d try it. Very glad I did after just finishing my first 9 minute workout. Just short enough to keep the momentum going & completed warm up and exercises with a feeling of satisfaction knowing I’ll return to the app frequently. The choice will be mine! Yay.

two week trial trap
Can’t remember how the interface was set up, but I basically felt like I had to say “yes” to the trial. I did a couple workouts, wasn’t liking it much because you have to stop to hit the “next” button, so it feels disjointed. Forgot about the trial period by a few days (my fault), emailed and 8fit would not prorate or refund anything — stuck with a $60 annual fee. They offered a personal trainer at no charge, so I accepted and decided to give it another try. Got a message via email from the trainer that said I could reply via email or through the app. Replied via email, then got two messages saying she did not get my reply. The trainer also asked for full-body shot photo of me, which I decided not to submit. Hoping this experience improves; pretty disappointed with it so far. I assume the trainer is supposed to help motivate me but she’s had the opposite effect so far.

True as toast
Average human here. You know the story, I’ve tried everything, nothing sticks or works. I hate every second of working out and it doesn’t last.
This app has made me fall in love with exercise and health. Also, this is incredibly cheap ($5 a MONTH) compared to all the healthy cookbooks and gym memberships. You get grocery lists and recipes (all can be personalized according to preference and allergies). And you can let them know where you stand on exercise and they will choose a level for you to start at, and it can all be done at home.
This is GREAT! If you want the best for yourself and want a change in lifestyle, this is the app to help you make that happen.
