Description of Blast Athletic Performance

Amplify your active lifestyle with Blast Athletic Performance. Fire-up the Blast app’s BlastCam to record video of the action and the patented Smart Video Capture ™ technology will dynamically identify high-energy events to create Blast highlights, overlaid with your athletic performance metrics (acceleration, vertical height, rotation, and hang-time). Easily share your video and metric highlights to social media with one touch. Pair your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with the Blast Precision Motion Sensor. The Blast Precision Motion Sensor attaches to your waistband and uses Bluetooth® Smart technology to connect to your smartphone or tablet. There’s no need to alter your actions or do anything out of the ordinary, and there are no power buttons or controls to get in your way. The Blast precision motion sensor knows when you’re moving and dynamically powers-up the sensor and engages the patented motion detection algorithms to capture your important 3D action metrics in real-time. It even stores movement data on the sensor when your mobile device is out of range and downloads your actions to the Blast app as soon as you reconnect. With Blast Athletic Performance, coaches, athletes and active life enthusiasts can gain the insights they need to improve their performance, gain the competitive edge and show the world what they’ve achieved. *The Blast Athletic Performance app requires the Blast Precision Motion Sensor and the performance clip attachment to collect data. Reviews of Blast Athletic Performance

  • Great tool for analyzing CrossFit movement

Blast has helped me analyze my olympic lifting movements at a precise level. It helps me understand day to day, where my jump acceleration or vertical height may be, so that I can better judge how well each lift was executed. The video capture is terrific for allowing me to visually see if I am reaching extension, and identify problem areas in my technique.
Blast has helped me learn more about my athletic habits and patterns. For example, I can identify if I have recovered properly, with a vertical height test as soon as I get to the gym.
In CrossFit, we are always moving from one area to another, so it can be hard in a given workout to capture every movement on video. Anyone who has done the Open knows how much help you need with video!
Battery life is a non-issue with blast, just make sure that you're charging between sessions to be on the safe side. The wireless charger is pretty convenient for that. Quick tip: if you're having trouble getting the sensor in and out d the clip, just put it on backwards so that it can charge without taking it out.
There's a number of uses for blast in a CrossFit box. Our hips play such an important role in exercises like Handstand Push Ups, Oly Lifts, Pull Ups, Box Jumps, the list goes on. If you use blast as a tool for analyzing movement patterns its sure to help you improve!
  • Tech Chess Savvy Pranay

Flip Forward, Backward and measure ur rotation.
  • Cool and helpful app!

I like how it measures my vertical height and I can see my improvement over time.
