You can now register without a password via an unlock code sent to your cell phone. You don’t need to enter it again as long as you do not logout.
We now provide more complete and more valuable seismic risk information for your home or building, with the repair cost in the largest likely earthquake—with and without seismic retrofit, and with and without earthquake insurance at various deductibles. This is something insurance company calculate but do not show to buyers.
We have implemented a more comprehensive algorithm for the Earthquake Score. It now takes into account whether you are in a liquefaction, landslide, or fault zone. Our new earthquake catalog merges events from a dozen seismic networks around the world, and tags the events as either mainshocks or aftershocks. You can filter the catalog by time period and magnitude, and zoom or pan the map, with a corresponding clickable table.
We now provide push notifications for moderate or larger earthquakes near you.
The app now includes our news articles, which were previously in a separate website. We now are registered to assign DOI numbers, so that the articles are searchable in Google Scholar and their scientific citations are tracked.

Description of Temblor

Temblor gives individuals the tools to understand their personal earthquake risk. Temblor provides free individualized earthquake risk information to the public. It’s the same basic info that we license to the insurance industry — the difference being volume of locations and depth of the analysis. This distinguishes us from other risk model vendors (e.g., RMS, AIR, CoreLogic), which are closed to the public. “Impressive Earthquake App. Way more here than the other 'earthquake apps.'” — J.D. Check your risk Under the “Your Risk” tab, enter your home address (or a city, state or geographic landmark) or find your location and instantly see the earthquake magnitude that location is likely to experience in your lifetime. Use the map layers to explore various hazards including shaking, liquefaction susceptibility, wildfire hazard and more (depending on location). Check your risk everywhere on Earth. Pan and zoom to view all recent earthquakes anywhere on the planet. Temblor merges earthquake catalogs from the major seismic agencies around the world into one real-time display of global earthquakes in the past 24 hours, 2 days, 7 days or 30 days. View faults throughout the world or in your backyard. Quake Alerts Temblor will send you a notification when an earthquake strikes near your location. This is NOT an earthquake early warning and is not intended to inform you of impending shaking. Various agencies around the world distribute early earthquake warnings to earthquake-prone regions. We encourage you to seek out your local agency to receive such alerts. Temblor Earthquake News “Articles” brings you to Temblor Earthquake News, a news platform dedicated to earthquake reporting. Temblor’s mission is to provide the public with accurate, accessible, and understandable information about earthquakes. Read breaking news about major earthquakes, post-quake analyses and the latest developments in earthquake science in easy-to-understand language. Following major or particularly notable quakes, Temblor rapidly publishes accurate post-event analyses to inform the public and support institutional and commercial responses. Temblor is an approved Google News source and has been cited in major news outlets.

Reviews of Temblor

  • only will show my risk factor

How do I get it to show me Local earthquakes?
  • App doesn’t work

It asks for your phone number to recieve a verification code, but once you do, it asks to update the app and won’t text me the code. Complete waste of time and might potentially be stealing your personal info!
  • Does not have functionality as shown in preview

Version 4.1.0 and website - I cannot get anything other than different versions of risk maps. No way to access the individual building risk assessment screen as shown in the first iOS App Store preview screenshot.
Very suspicious as other reviewers have complained about this for years, yet not addressed!
