Description of Blackwell 1

The first game in Wadjet Eye's Blackwell mystery adventure series. Rosa Blackwell's humdrum life is turned upside-down when she discovers she is a medium with the power to talk to the dead. With the aid of the wise-cracking Joey Mallone, the family spirit guide, she sets out on a quest to lay to rest the ghosts of New York City. But is Joey as well-intentioned as he claims? And why is her family bonded to him, generation after generation? "The Blackwell Legacy" is the first in the critically acclaimed Blackwell series. It is followed by "Blackwell 2: Unbound" (available now!), "Blackwell 3: Convergence" (available now!), "Blackwell 4: Deception" (coming soon) and "Blackwell 5: Epiphany" (coming soon) Just Adventure - "It leaves most independently developed games for dead." - A-/B+ Strategy Informer - "If this were a TV show, one watch of this and any TV network would commission a full series." Adventure Gamers - "By the end of the game, [Rosangela Blackwell] is a main character you want to spend more time with." 4.5/5 Gameboomers - "An unusually compelling psychological study for an independent game to undertake." Gamezebo - "A thought-provoking and detailed plot."

  • Ok but short

I enjoyed the pixel art and the nostalgic feel but the whole game had about five real puzzles to solve and none felt that fulfilling.
  • Was initially going to leave a positive review, but….

Had an issue with laziness; you guys made it so the simple mechanic of exiting and re-entering a scene after dialogue is exchanged the key to progressing the storyline.

Also pebble/cobblestone floated in air until end of game once placed in inventory. I took screenshots

Too expensive for how short this segment of the series is, more on par with 1.49….

  • Absolutely Amazing!

Can we get this game updated to support larger screen phones like the iPhone 15 Pro Max. I wish games like this were produced on a regular basis.
