Improve vocabulary
My son is going to college and we are against the clock trying to get him ready. We lived out of the country and he missed 5 years of English and vocabulary, so he has been practicing. We are doing it on two phones because I think some times he answers incorrect and on the second try he does well because he has good memory I want him to really learn it, I feel that what is missing is the indication that the word can be a noun , verb etc and maybe the pronunciation should be first. We are going to go threw the entire program hopefully, up to here very satisfied!Show lessyoungmaster kicks
Every student should have this!
This is one of the best educational apps I’ve ever downloaded. I’ve only used it for 2 days and my vocabulary is improving. Another reason why I love this app is because when you choose the wrong meaning for the app word, it will give you the definition and let you find the meaning of other words. Then when you least expect it, the word or words you got wrong with appear and you have to pick the right one. That helped me retain the words. Thank you ❤️Show lessRadachel
Good app for Vocabulary
This app is really good, and I have learnt a lot from it. My teachers say I need to improve my vocabulary, and this app is exactly what I need. With over 1000 words you can learn, this app makes learning new words fun and easy.Bluegirl_03
Amazing App
Learn vocabulary on the sly.
Almost like a Duolingo style is teaching, this app actually helps you learn new words and definitions by easing you into the memorizing process, then kicking it up a notch by timing you and making the option to run up against another player for an even better learning experience by adding a little pressure for the gold.
Honestly one of the greatest apps for writing, vocabulary, literary, literature enthusiasts.

Brilliant App
Brilliant App for expanding vocabulary, includes many words not in everyday use, but would make conversation more interesting! Gives good examples of the word in use, but further definitions may be helpful - surprised to find how many words are misused by many people!MFire73
Love this app!
I’ve only been using it for a few days, but I’m addicted! Great vocabulary, easy to use, and fun to play. The only changes I would make, is perhaps make it a little more visually appealing, more games, and the ability to personalize your profile and interact with the other players, like chatting with them, adding them as friends, and the ability to check out their profiles as well. Like all apps, there’s a little room for improvement, but nothing big! I’m really glad I downloaded it and I highly recommend giving it a try!Show lessAngie(MillerTime)
Great but needs adjustments
Overall, this is a really good app for anyone looking to brush up on new or forgotten vocabulary.
The main drawback, in my opinion, is that many of the words are defined in a way that is only tangentially related to their real meaning.
For example: ‘encumber’ is defined as ‘hold back’ in the app. Whilst this is technically true, ‘encumber’ really means ‘weigh down’.
Another example is the word ‘transitory’. In app, this is defined as ‘short-lasting’, when in fact it merely means ‘temporary’.
This might seem pedantic, but the nuanced meaning of synonyms is kind of the entire point of learning them.Show lessEbarham18
Just for fun
I was wasting my time on games and decided to spend my time on something that would actually exercise my mind. I tried several Vocabulary Builder Apps but most of them were built too much like a game by not allowing you to play unless you earned points. This app is simple and to the point. It gives you context by putting the word in a sentence.
For future optimization I would suggest putting the pronunciation option before you select your answer and adding synonyms and antonyms.Show lessDELYLA in Columbus Ohio
Amazing but roots would be useful :)
I love this app! The words have been selected well, as have the example sentences. Words come up the perfect number of times and your progress is easy to track. The only suggestion I would have is to add the roots of words - especially to those which you get wrong - to aid memorisation. Otherwise perfect app!Show less987mel
Great free vocabulary app
I really like using this app in my spare time. It’s fun to compete with my husband over who picked the right definition, and we both learn new definitions and words as we go. It’s surprisingly simple, easy to use, and doesn’t have annoying pop-up adds, which is awesome considering that it’s free.
However, there are a couple things that would make it better.
I would like to see some sort of pronunciation aid before you pick your definition, especially for new and unfamiliar words, as well as identifying how the word is being used (e.g. noun or verb). Both would be helpful in identifying the correct answer before choosing. Also, if you could add some sort of footnote that points out when a word has multiple meanings, we wouldn’t be as confused or self-doubting when presented with a new definition for an already familiar word.
Otherwise, I really enjoy this app and would recommend it to others. Thanks!Show lessNana.17.94.
