Star Walk 2

Just a fantastic app. I use it with children in my care, other adults and anyone I can convince into having a look. Thanks for providing such a wonderful learning platform!

Response from developer

We sincerely appreciate your detailed and thoughtful feedback. Thank you so much for your kind words!

Good App, but no daytime app icon

There’s a lot of lazy devs out there who still haven’t made a dark mode icon for iOS 18. This one is the reverse of that— their app icon is great in dark mode but way too dark for light mode.

Response from developer

Your remark is greatly appreciated and will be taken into consideration.

Paid for an app only to need to pay for actual content

Paid for the app in a bundle only to need to buy add ons to use it properly. Bait and switch

Response from developer

On the app store you purchase the basic app with no ads, the additional content is purchased separately from the app. The app description on the store clearly states that.

Too many notifications, can’t turn them off

I get multiple notifications per day from this app and turning all the notifications off in the settings doesn’t do that. Plus there are no detailed options for the few events i would like to know about, but you’ll happily let me know every time a planet or star gets close to the moon. Test this stuff instead of just letting it fester for years. I’m going back to Night Sky.

Edit: the dev has helpfully replied that notifications are handled by the system. I’m aware of that. However, I’m referring to the choice of specific notifications that is supposedly offered in the app settings. I turned the “events” off under the notifications settings, which i assume would not notify me every time a constellation or planet or literally anything is approaching another celestial body. Imagine my surprise when i keep getting those notifications and other for events. Huh. It’s like the option doesn’t work.

Response from developer

Notifications are a part of the iOS functionality and are managed from the iOS settings for each app separately.

Having fun w this app !!

If you’re into both learning about and checking out the night sky to find out if you’re looking at planets, stars or satellites, this is the perfect app for you and your kids. Worth every penny if you purchase the non ad version. I have seen zero ads thus far to interfere with my sky watching!
Five stars from me!!

It's not every day we receive as detailed and thoughtful feedback as yours. Thank you so much for your kind words!

Not working

This app was free and since the hype of the comet it’s since costed $3.99. When I open the app it’s showing west/ Venus/ the comet behind me when in reality I’m facing west. When my husband opens the same app his shows in the correct spot infront of us. Yesterday it did this for him and worked for me. Clearly Often glitches and shows incorrect locations

Star Walk 2 has always been paid, you are confusing it with Star Walk 2 Ads+ which is free with ads. The position of objects depends on the location that has been selected in the Star Walk 2 settings, as well as the data returned by your phone's hardware compass. Please check your location settings and calibrate the compass by following the instructions on the screen in AR mode.

Waste of Money

Do not pay for the upgrades in this app it is a waste of your money. I recently got a new phone & sent them a copy of the original receipt & they still would not restore my purchases.

Response from developer

If you are using the same Apple account and the same version of Star Walk 2, you made the purchase from, the content will be automatically restored.

Stars of Interest

Stars of interest and being able to know their name. Andromeda following it day and night, knowing where it is. Having an alarm sound at sun rise, sun set & high noon. These and many other similar things interest me personally. I have two white post in my yard helping me find the North Star @ due South. Thank you for your help.

We are incredibly grateful that you took the time out to leave us a 5-Star review.

Works very well

I wanted an app that can show exactly what the phone camera shows. I initially had a hard time figuring (entirely mu fault) out this feature, but with some help I managed. It works very well.

Response from developer

Star Walk 2 is exactly the app that shows what the phone camera points at. Please consider tapping the compass in the upper left corner and point your device to the sky.
