This app gets five stars from me because my granddaughter goes straight to sleep when she hears it: it works better than the specialised baby sounds apps.
I can't actually tell the difference between the three apparently different fans, but the widget that allows you to alter the "shape" of the sound is fascinating.

Back in the day, I used to put on white noise for the babies to fall asleep, especially when we were travelling. Now I use this if the husband is watching TV and I want to go to sleep, when the neighbors are running the generator for the monthly test session, when there is a noise outside my office door and I want to block it out. Useful and fantastic application 🏆
Firstly, let me say that this is a absolutely fantastic, realistic sounding and very useful application. I use this application almost every night for sound sleeping and it works perfectly! Secondly, to address the looping sound, it was true that this was a big problem and in my opinion rendered this application non-usable. However, currently this application has the bugs worked out of it and it no longer creates that looping sound anymore. As long as you update as a programmer states, this application should work perfectly for you. Lastly, the one star reviews… do not pay attention to them. Download the app, and try it for yourself. Exactly what I was looking for. Minimalism. Straight to the point. No useless features. So simple it doesn't need a tutorial! Excellent! (Maybe not my first choice of colour, but...)
I can hear the skip when the audio track loops. And it bugs me and it breaks my concentration almost as much as sounds I'm trying to block out. Happens on iOS8/5s.Show lessMark Surpher
A real review
This app is currently useless/dangerous. It needs to be pulled from the App Store ASAP. Anyone who has given it more than 1 star is a fake review or they simply have not used the app yet. It looks great! - great graphics and usability BUT it loops every 15-30 seconds and the waves are not meshed properly so you can clearly hear this "skipping" sound multiple times each minute!!! - it's liable to cause you a panic attack or at the very least, make you feel as though you are being tortured over its intended use of relaxing you to sleep... Please, until they pull and fix this app, rate it 1 star to help expedite the fixing of this glaring error.Show lessgifford88
iOS 8 / iPhone 6+ bug
I used to love this app but since switching to iOS 8 on an iPhone 6+, the sound hiccups regularly while playing, making it useless as a sleep aid. I cannot recommend this app until the developer addresses this issue.seanswee

At noisy hotel with no a/c sounds and the cheap fan I brought conked out! Hubby couldn't sleep, so I put Sleepy Fan on for 90 minutes - out like a light instantly, and when the 90 minutes were over, he was in such a deep sleep, he didn't notice the "fan" was off!333catnite
Great but IOS 8 slows it down
Fantastic app - I wish I hadn't upgraded my iPad to iOS 8 as it slows the sound and the join in the sound loop can be heard. I hope the developer does an update!!!!!!
