  • Hours provides me control over my work records

I rate Hours with five stars. The app has freed me up during the work day, when I work for up to 30 customers. I can even look back in history in case I should be audited.

If I have any suggestions for the Dev, it would be for more colors and patterns for ‘timers’, which I tie to my customers. I have a library of many customers and the colors are not varied enough.

Please give Hours a try! You will enjoy it’s simplicity and functionality.

  • Simple and effective, but crazy expensive

This app does pretty much what I was looking for, but the subscription model means I'll be looking elsewhere.

You create each project / job you will work on, then when you start work, start the project timer and this is logged on your calendar. When you stop working, stop the timer.

You then get a simple breakdown of what you worked on and when. It's easy to see your weekly hours per job.

Only problem is you are limited to four or five timers and to unlock more costs £60/year, which is far too much really. This adds other features, but it's not that clear what these are. It let's you log on to the website, but I'm more sure what this does as you can't view it without subscribing.

I'd be happy to buy the app as a one off payment to add more timers.

There are lots of great features for Hours and we have some options for both our Personal and Pro versions of Hours. Contact us at support@hourstimetracking.com and we can look at your subscription and find out what fits you best.
  • This is NOT a free app.

Please mention “in-app purchases” as there is no way to use it for free. Thanks

    Developer Response

We offer several options including a free version of the Hours app. The latest version of the app makes it easier to find the free version.
  • Not actually free

Can no longer use basic features for free. Need an account to start a “trial”. Been using this app for a long time but now I will delete it.

You can still access your data and use Hours for Free, just select the version that is best for you, select "Try a Taste Before You Buy". Then login or create an account (name, email, password). You will get 3 free additional timers (beyond what you already have) and you can continue to use Hours for Free. If you choose, you then have the option to subscribe to Hours Personal (for the low introductory price for the first year) or Hours Pro. You will get unlimited timers, sync, automatic backup and simplified timer creation. Additionally, Hours Pro subscribers also get Hours web access. If this resolves the issue please consider updating your rating and comment. Thank you.
  • Great for me

Being a consulting engineer i have from 1 to 10 projects in the air all of the time. I spent a few hours making mistakes which were my fault but having used this software for over two years, i just love it. I don't have to generate my daily activities at the end of the day, notes are always there and i don't miss billing hours. Again, this app is a great way for me to keep real track of my time and in the correct catagory.

  • Its still my “go to” time tracker

I was having some issues previously with the app but it seems to have sorted itself out. I freelance and this app works great for keeping track of all my projects. The only problem I had previously was that it wanted me to “restore purchases” each time I signed in. Not sure if others were experiencing the same problem or if it was just me due to purchasing a new phone. Anyway, I’ve been using this app for about 2 years now and it’s been very reliable.

  • Bugs bugs bugs

This app has so much potential. I pay for the full version and have done for a few months now. I have been in contact several times with customer support but to little avail. Issues I have been having are:

Most recently, text is not showing when selecting start and end times in the timer window

When you create a report, entries will randomly have the tasks omitted in the report so you don’t know what task it is for that job - this is really annoying because it is clearly inputted correctly.

No way to name a report or put a personalised logo or name on each report. I have to export as pdf to put a title on each weekly report

The online version hours length does not reflect the hours input on the app. It is always out but a min and never rounds up correctly.

This app costs me £6 a month. Fix the above and I’ll continue using and paying. Don’t fix them I’m moving to something else

We hate to hear that you've had some trouble with Hours. Would you mind reaching out to our support team (support@hourstimetracking.com) again so they can get some more info for our development team?
  • Too expensive!

I really liked this app, I do. But charging £19 per year is just too expensive, and you have to recognize that there are plenty of apps out there that basically offer the same function as yours. So although I did enjoy using it, I’ll have to switch to other similar apps.

  • DEVELOPERS ARE SCAMMING YOU FOR $$$$, DO NOT GET APP

This app works good for tracking your time and setting timers. I used it all last year and enjoyed it. Now I try to open the app and it says I have to make an account and pay either $30 or $80 just to use the app that I’ve already been using...
The app is good but not good enough to make it worth those ridiculous prices. I would pay at most a one-time $5 for it. There is absolutely no free version which is ridiculous.
Also making an account should be optional. The app is literally just a bunch of timers, if you’re not looking to export your data somewhere why on earth would you need an account or internet connection???? Total bs

  • No longer a free app

Suddenly you can’t use the app anymore without logging into an account. I didn’t have an account and don’t want one. This shouldn’t be allowed to be marked as a “free app with in-app purchases” if you literally can’t use it without purchasing anything. And don’t tell me the account is free, because there’s no bozo-level which costs nothing — there’s only a 30 day free trial. This is complete garbage too because if I only use the app on one device, no infrastructure or services are needed on their end for syncing (i.e. because I’m not syncing anything). I used to have a fully functioning piece of software on my phone, which wasn’t synced with anything and which therefore did not require any account— now I don’t have access to any of my timers or past information or anything. This is really garbage, highway robbery at its finest. Thanks for destroying my perfectly good app with your unnecessary update, and thanks for robbing me of access to a bunch of my personal data which i spent hours creating (pun intended). Seriously though the people who pushed out that upgrade that forces users to have an account— terrible people.
