This is the second Big Fish HO mystery in a row that I am unable to complete! I'm tired of wasting my money! The Chapter 4 (X) wall painting puzzle is flawed and won't let me play. The pieces disappear as I try and substitute them. I can't progress! I've tried restarting many times. Frustrated and disappointed. I thought Big Fish games were supposed to be better than this?
I've played some stinkers but this was the cherry. You pay for a meh game and just wanting to get through it and BAM, you're back at the beginning with nothing. Deleting and being more wary of buying quickly.
I am having a problem with the hint and skip button. Cannot use.
I would like to play this game, that I foolishly paid for, but it crashes with each and every cutscene. If that weren't enough, when you return to play, it starts you at an earlier point without the items that you already had and now need again to move forward. There is nothing else to do but start over.
I really liked this game. I played it through to the bonus game without any problems. The map is a little hard to find but once I found it everything was okay. The puzzles were great. I like the option to play a match 3 game instead of HO scenes. Even the match 3 games were great.
The last Big Fish game I purchased reset to the beginning halfway through. This one reset to the beginning of a chapter, which would be frustrating enough, but now when I pick up objects, they disappear instead of being added to my inventory. Ridiculous.
*** My review below was fixed after completely restarting my iPad. I never have to do this with games anymore, but I should've tried it first before writing a bad review complaining of a bug.
Nevertheless, I'm only raising my review by 1 star from 2 to 3, because even though I finished and somewhat enjoyed the game, the mystery was obvious from the start and the puzzles were so easy, probably the easiest I've seen, and were no fun because of that.
When opening the diary to read the clues, there are sentences superimposed over the new clue. So every page has multiple paragraphs laying on top of each other, making it impossible to read each new clue! And now a new photo is laying on the bottom half of the new clue and won't go away or move to the side like the first two photos did. (This all started when you get to the pirate scene trying to help Frank the gardener).
Please Big Fish, do your QUALITY CONTROL before releasing these ports over to iPad. We know they originated as PC games, but just because they worked great on PC, doesn't mean you shouldn't have testers go through the new iPad port before you release it. I've paid for this already and can't play it.
This game is very frustrating! I'm playing the free app and unless changes are made I will not be purchasing this game. The game keeps shutting down and I've had to start over 4 times. I'm trying to open the Diary for a clue to open the trunk next to the cage on the Pirate ship and it just closes the app. This is the the first review I've ever written and I'm hoping this will help to prompt some changes.
Because that is about as many times as this game booted me out! As if that is bad enough, each time I reloaded, I was back a few steps and had to play them again to catch up.....not acceptable. I love EPIX games....they have the most varied games, the greatest voice overs with moving lips, interesting story lines and top quality graphics. But everyone of their games is filled with glitches....I don't understand the problem...they have enough on the payroll ( yes I did go through all the names on the credits just to see how lean they run their ship). Maybe glitches are not as important in their country...but they are to Americans who play the games. EPIX, you are gifted, talented, artists..no doubt...but please assign someone just for the glitches!

I like the graphics and story line a lot probably because mysteries are more fun than fairies. I didn't have all the glitches that others reported but had to skip some puzzles (which I never do) because e.g. Impossible to put the paint at bottom of flower. Taps you out of scene. All bugs should be fixed before release. You don't buy clothes at the store partly finished or food already open.
