Used to be good
They changed the UI, which was amazing before. I wish they would go back to the old UI because this is boring and bland and looks like every other Photo app now. The original app was one of the best apps for retro video that I owned. Now, it is useless to me. Also, they should have added an in app purchase instead of a subscription because this app never gets updated. they could’ve at least grandfathered in the original people that paid for this app 15 years ago and rarely got updates. Still, I stuck with this app, sent at least 15 emails to the developers and never received a word, and I refuse to pay a subscription for an app that I owned, a horrible UI change, 1 that does not get updated, and developers that do not respond. They used to have a lot of apps in the App Store that I purchased, which became abandoned where. This was a fantastic app, and if they listen to their customers, they would revert to the old app or at least make a legacy app for the people who supported them through throughout the years.

I paid for this app years ago and now I can’t use most of the features unless I re-purchase it. This is unacceptable.

I have had this for a number of years and it keeps getting better. I love the simplicity and effects. My go to and everyone loves my films.

i love this but the old ui was better, it just seemed more vintage and cool, can there be like an option to change the ui to how it was before the update and without the aspect ratio settings on the screen, PLEASE DO THIS?

Perfect looks. Great interface. Two things missing - no white balance focus ae lock option. Also original save does always return to off.

Original paid lifetime access no longer valid
I used to love this app and I paid for the full original version of it. But, like many people have mentioned, I no longer have access to anything nor can I use the app without paying for a NEW lifetime access (which, again, I already paid before they did a UI update), or go the subscription model that is plaguing the entire software/app universe. I’d rather just find another app (even if I have to pay for that one) than support a company that practices this way.

Update erased all my footage + ap new layout is confusing slow and crashes every few minutes now
Your update that was essentially forced on me across all my devices, erased all my footage, inside the ap, years of it, some priceless things from that same day gone (never made it to my photos or any backup) there’s all these weird pay incentives for customization now. It’s all junk, the ap doesn’t work anymore it shuts down while recording and the new layout really makes it feel like all the film stock emulators have lost quality across the spectrum. I used and championed this ap for a decade maybe. I really would appreciate a downgrade back to the old version so I can keep using it. I’d gladly change my 1 star rating and continue using it and championing it.

I can’t record videos
It says that “The requested URL was not found on this server” whenever I try to record something. What has happened to this app? I used to love it so much :( Can you guys fix this, please?

Ich habe mal die Vollversion gekauft, und dann wird die App hinterrücks in eine in App kaufen umgewandelt. Toll so kann man versuchen nochmal abzukassieren. Vielen dank auch 8mm.
Crashing
It crashes on the latest IOS and there is no updates anymore . Don’t waste your money !

Very glitchy now, crashes when trying to record videos. What’s the point of paying if you can’t use it?

The BEST and ACCURATE
I don’t know, I don’t see any negatives here, the app is great.
It really does look like 8mm film. There’s a new digital 8mm film camera being sold today (can’t remember what it’s called), it doesn’t compare to this at all. This is great. 10/10

My reviews keep getting deleted
I’ve had this app since the day it was released. It was honestly one of the best vintage video app apps. The UI was amazing. I paid for the app. I paid for three in app purchases. I contacted the company at least six or seven times when they abandoned it for a good four years. Never received a reply. I beta test a lot of apps so I don’t just immediately leave a bad review – I give the developer a chance to answer my questions or tell me what they are planning before I leave a review. It went through a lot of really buggy incarnations and like I said, the developer never got back with me. I mean, it takes three minutes to write an email. Then they finally updated it and turned it to poo. The UI was changed and not nearly as interesting as the original. You have to now pay a monthly fee if you want to use all of the features. Which they should have grandfathered in the people who paid for the app or offered an in app purchase instead of charging a monthly fee. So, an app that was one of my staples for many years is now an app that I rarely use. I contacted the company again, but they never respond. I constantly leave reviews and they magically disappear. Also, I don’t understand how they can charge you for this app and then one you to pay a subscription fee. So, I’m sure there are a lot of people that have been downloading this app lately only to find out that you’ve got to subscribe to it if you want to use all the features. Oh well, some developers are just greedy and this developer happens to be one of them. So, call me dramatic or complain that this review is far too long. It just stinks when you have access to a beautifully designed app, one that actually does what it says. It’s going to do, you pay for it, you pay extra for in app purchases, then they change it up, and charge you more. 10 years ago I would’ve said by this app and don’t look back. Now in good conscience, I can’t tell anyone to buy this app.
