What's New in Super 16 | 16mm Film Camera

1.3.2

September 3, 2026

Super 16 | 16mm Film Camera 1.3.2 - Now you can change the FPS of imported videos! This is done with frame interpolation using either ML or Optical Flow (depending on the device). Additionally, you can adjust the video's motion blur by emulating different shutter speeds. So you can take raw 30, 60, and even 15 FPS footage (FPS upscaling works too) and turn it into a cinematic 24 FPS, or, for example, 18 FPS as in old 8mm home movies. You can even set it to 5 FPS and crank the motion blur up to the full frame time (1/5s) to achieve that unmistakable look from Wong Kar-wai films - Voice remote control - the settings now allow you to record voice commands in any language for basic actions such as start, stop, pause, and take a photo. You can also configure notifications via sound or light when a voice command is recognized, as well as automatically trim the stop command from a video recording. So if you have multiple devices, you can now control them synchronously using your voice - Long press to focus - spatial focus and exposure lock is now available by long-pressing the preview. After the long press, the camera settles exposure, ISO, and focus at that spot (within about 2.5 seconds), the focus frame turns red, and the ISO/Exposure and Focus knobs appear - Improved video bitrate settings - the manual scale is more balanced and now goes up to 150 Mbps in 1080p and 500 Mbps in 4K. Higher bitrates show a warning with the storage used per minute of video and the free space left. Automatic bitrate selection has also been improved and now takes the frame rate and aspect ratio into account - Imported video mode now has a timeline - you can trim the video and add multiple film burns at any timecode (finally after so many years) - True portrait mode - the app can now really be used in portrait, with no more pseudo-rotation or misplaced system controls. The gallery works in portrait too

Great .. BUT

Hello devs, this app is a godsend but there is one fatal flaw. The max bitrate is WAY too low. As a filmmaker I use this app to color grade my footage to give it the film look but the max bitrate is only 68 mbs/sec… this leaves my footage looking pixelated on a bigger screen. Please update and increase the max bitrate ideally to 150mbs/sec thank you! I been telling everyone to get this app

Would give 5 stars, but…

I would’ve given this app five stars, but they didn’t add another sign-in option and I can’t sign-in with my Apple account for reasons. If you could fix this, that would be amazing!

Amazing.

I am currently working on my first feature film. With little to no budget, this app does a pretty decent color grade. Has many options, and ability to change settings and save filters. I only use the free version of this app, however, it is more than enough, and comparatively to the countless other apps I’ve tried? Not even close. This is just such a wonderful app.

Almost perfect

For amateur filmmakers this app is brilliant and a lot of fun! The only thing it’s missing is the ability to shoot in log for more post pro grading, other than that I can’t fault the app, so easy to use and the results are great!
