  • Can add and some disappear

I’ve used this app for years. At some point it updated and everything I added went away.
No way for me to recover my email or password.
  • Very helpful

Does exactly what it says it does.
  • NEEDS AN UPDATE

If you haven’t totally forgotten about this app please release an update for it to work with larger screens and fix the sign in issues. I can’t add any fountain locations. I loved this app so much in high school especially during summers it was a lifesaver. I want to be able to add locations too.
  • Did not show any options in LOS ANGELES, and had an error message when sign in

Try to download this app to find water fans near me, didn’t show a single option, would not let me sign up to find options, and then glitched out and canceled the app altogether. Would not recommend this app
  • Doesn’t work

Why it’s on App Store still?
  • App was a good idea but dead

The app was a good idea, but it is dead now. Doesn’t seem to work, it’s a shame because I donated money to this 501c3 charity. They are a good cause, too many buildings are built now with no drinking fountains, expecting people to drink from plastic bottles. Where public drinking water is good drinking fountains should be plentiful.

  • Is this app dead?

Great idea but seems to be no longer supported. I can’t sign back in. App support is a dead link.
  • Great idea, still in its infancy, but has a lot of promise!

As another reviewer has noted, it is a great shame that this app never got further developed, or that it is possible to add to the existing data, for example to add photographs, or change the status of a fountain that is currently out of action. It has all the potential to be a five star app; such a shame that it apparently got abandoned immediately after “birth”

On Sunday, out of the blue, all of the water fountains suddenly reappeared on the map, and suddenly the app was usable again! To celebrate, I walked the 4km into town and made a point of tracking and drinking from every single drinking fountain on the way, many of which I had never even noticed before, despite having walked that route many dozens of times. WeTap fills a great little niche in an often overcrowded app market and its database seems to be very comprehensive, at least if Zürich, Switzerland is anything to go by. Two stars reinstated.

However, this is very much a first attempt at a drinking fountains app. Yes, it allows you to add new fountains if they are not marked on the map, and also to take a photograph of the fountain, which is a nice touch. However, if you make an error in the "add" process, there is no way to correct the error, nor is it possible to add a photograph of an existing fountain, nor is it possible to provide status updates, such as if a fountain is not working, or simply not there any more.

I have written to the developer with these suggestions, and I hope that her response will be as quick as it has been in the last week. This app should be in the app toolkit of every keen walker, but it won't really come into its own until the users are able to contribute updates to the database. I look forward to developments!

Have twice contacted the developer, but no response. Seems the app is dead.

With no data of drinking fountains, WeTap is just a map, and I already have a couple of map programs on my phone. One star reluctantly removed, but would be really happy to be a beta tester to make it work.

I installed this app about a month and a half ago, and on the day of installation, it worked like a dream, showing me at all map scales all of the drinking fountains in my local area (Zürich, Switzerland).

However, the next time that I came to use it, it had lost all of its data, and was now nothing more than a map.

I logged out and logged back in again, deleted the app and reinstalled it, all to no avail. Nothing I have been able to do is bringing the database back. Which is a shame, because the idea is great. I even installed it from cold on my iPad mini, but again no database. And at the time of installation I had full cellular and wifi coverage.

Giving one star to something that does not work would be fair, but that would downplay the excellence of the idea. However, once it works, it will be a four or five star app.

  • Camera feature not working

Nice idea, needed app, but needs development.
  • Dog Bowl!?!

App icons don’t make any sense. Should integrate with Google Maps and not Apple Maps which are terrible.
