Geofencing makes the app pointless and unusable
Long time thunderhead (20+ years!) that recently had to move out of state. During my time overseas in the mid 2000s, streaming Chico Thunder kept me connected to my home. Now, back in the US, I can no longer listen to Beau Reyes or hear the latest Hibdon Auto Center ad. This station brought my family so much joy, but now it’s truly heartbreaking that the bean counters at KTHU decided to block us out from listening to our favorite station. I also feel bad for the small businesses that advertise on Chico Thunder who are getting less exposure now thanks to this arbitrary decision. I hope one day that common sense prevails—why only allow streaming in the areas where you can listen over the air?!
