The best

I’ve been on a mission and have downloaded and purchased a pro version to every “Pro” camera app out there. Moment has basically everything I liked about several apps combined. Clean interface, phenomenal preset menu (and fast to access unlike BlackMagic burying it deep in the settings) All the flavors of ProRes as well as h.265.
I do have some requests please.
A. I can’t save one preset with bracket photos on and one with it turned off. If you turn it on then it’s enabled for all photo modes. I have one preset for normal RAW shooting and another for Bracketed shots with the .5 for Real Estate photos. And I have to go into the settings and turn the bracket option on and off each time. Would love it to save to a preset however I set it.
B. Would like to see the different digital focal lengths you get with the stock camera like 28 & 35mm and also including the 2x for video.
C. And lastly, I would love to see a 2 way leveler. If you download Final Cut camera they just added the best leveler ever. Not only does it level your roll but there’s a little circle with a ball that lines up when your tilt is leveled as well. Please just copy this from them lol it doesn’t get better so just steal it and call it a day.

Response from developer

Hey, We've got a fix out for this now, version 3.12.4, check it out! -Jeff

Paid app, still have to pay for more features

Paid $11 for the app, but there’s still IAPs if I want all features unlocked. Cheap and greedy

Response from developer

We disagree, especially considering the number of subscription apps out there. The app is fully featured without the IAPs, and everything is a one-time purchase for you to own forever.

First thoughts

I very much like the control that has been put back in to our hands with this app.
However I can seem to find the 16:9 ratio setting.
Apple seam to have removed it for the 13.
Is this an api issue?

Developer fixed the issue

The app is pretty good if you need more manual control. The dev is good about keeping it updated. However, I do wish that it was a bit easier to use for some modes.

Response from developer

Please update to version 5.6.

Good app Needs fine tuning

First day of using app, done a couple tests video quality is definitely noticeably better however app crashes if adjusting volume using the in app volume slider, you also can’t use volume buttons as it will start recording so all adjusting needs to be done out of app, also when using a microphone or at least AirPods a user echo can be heard during recording if volume is up. Mic sometimes says it’s connected when not, also when using camera presets they can change randomly, with a couple quality of life fixes this app would be pretty perfect

Waste

Honestly kind of a waste of money to pay this much for an app that’s just going to make you pay MORE for the functions you want. Not worth it.

Response from developer

We feel that our pricing model is more than fair (no subscription, reasonably-priced add ons for features that are often sold as entirely separate apps). You're welcome to request a refund if you disagree.

Has issues for what I want

I use cabled audio input for audio then screen mirror to a tv from an iPhone 13. As soon as I plug in it automatically begins recording. Then the screen mirror always mirrors sideways in portrait mode when I want to record in landscape. Native camera app performs seamlessly. Moment is unusable for what I purchased it for. Disappointing.

Less useful.

Once upon a time this app function with the camera lens (without Moment lens), now they removed this important functionality. Very sad.

Response from developer

This is not true – the app functions on its own and does not require a Moment lens. Please clarify further or reach out using the "App Support and Feedback" option in the settings menu.

Like the app, except UI…

I use the app when I’d like to capture a RAW image or shoot a timelapse. It serves the purpose, but I don’t like the UI very much. It looks minimalist and beautiful, but fails when it comes to usability. To many unnecessary button taps that slow the flow of a shot down. Every time you switch focal length all settings reset and you have to adjust exposure and WB again. Native app keeps the settings locked until YOU change them and it’s much more convenient. To change a focal length you need to tap two buttons instead of one, like in the native Camera app. It’s an improvement over previous versions where I often had to tap the lens change icon 3 times, but still not an ideal implementation. Another thing that spoils the experience a bit is photo gallery feature: there is a lag when I open the gallery, and again, there is an extra tap that you need to perform to check the last photo taken as it’s not opened by default. Hopefully those issues will be addressed at some point. PS I currently use an iPhone 11 Pro
