Great App

What a superb app, very informative but, I can’t give it 5 stars because just had an email to tell me the £9:99 per year subscription is going up by £10:00 to £19:99 per year.

Absolutely ridiculous price hike. All you’ll do is alienate your subscribers.

Please listen.

Good app but stop the payment prompts

It’s a good app for keeping up to date with scores etc, however it’s really annoying that every time you drill down to a match detail it keeps advertising the payment options and forcing you to click on restore purchase. If you’ve paid you should have to keep doing this

Thanks for taking the time to give us some feedback. Please can you email rick@ultimaterugby.com so we can get this bug sorted. Thanks

Can’t turn off scores

Very good, apart from the fact that you can only look at it if you’re 100% up-to-date with all recent games. So many sports apps, you can turn off the scores, but not this.

And before they respond with the usual “please contact support”, I’ll just say that I contacted their support twice about this over the years and had no reply both times. That’s pretty bad for a subscription app.

Still the best but more difficult to navigate

This is still the best rugby fixture, analysis app I have found. One I use nearly everyday, pre-match, whilst watching matches and then post match. For the value it gives me I am happy with my subscription.
The 5.0.5 update takes some getting used to (like double tapping the matches icon on the bottom tab bar to switch between favourites and all matches).
However, the Match page is much harder to navigate. Previously, information was available on tabs so more clicks in the traditional way. Now a lot more of the information is on a single page. Less clicks but more scrolling! And if you get your presses in one of the table views, you can end up scrolling within the view instead of down the page. This makes the two bits of information I use the most much harder to get at quickly - the match score/event timeline and the Line Ups.
My suggestion would be to link to the score/event timeline when you press the score at the top of the page. This would make it quicker to access the timeline (without needing to scroll down).
I would also suggest the lineups table view expands or contracts if you just press the Squads header so you don’t have to search for the small expand/reduce button.

Hi Jimmi D thank for the feedback. Will take suggestions onboard and see what we can do. All the best

Progress ?????no not really

I cannot see the scores of matches played yesterday within the league I selected without making more selections. When I display matches I get leagues that are not in my favourites??? And like a few other posters I am not really impressed by your decision to reinsert ads when I paid to get them removed

Hi Welshjohn Thanks for getting in touch. Our latest update has improved the favourites functionality. The app will now default to your last view of the match list. You can also use the match icon to toggle between all games and just your favourites games. We are not showing ads at all. Those blocked content images you are seeing will be removed in the next update. I am sorry about that small bug. If you have anymore feedback please can you email RIck@ultimaterugby.com

Its by miles the best out there

I grudged it going up to £20 a year.
So didn’t have it for so long. But finally decided to pay for it and it is amazing. If you are a rugby stato it’s a dream and they guys that make it know and love rugby. So stop banging on about paying £20 for it. Why should it be free? Obviously tones of work goes into it and the features are miles better than the free version. Well done guys.

Frankie thanks for taking the time to give us a review. Enjoy the rugby and if you have any feedback please email rick@ultimaterugby.com

Good content, very poor app.

The gestures in the app are inconsistent with native iOS gestures (swipe from the left to go back for example). I also find it incredible that there isn’t a “go to today” button on the main fixtures screen. I find myself scrolling through future fixtures with no easy way to return to today apart from scrolling all the way back.

One more thing to add is that viewing a line-up simply shouldn’t qualify as a “premium” feature.

Using this app is an annoyance that I’ve now just downloaded the individual app for each respective tournament that I follow. Instead of enticing me to sign up for premium I’ve just been totally put off.

Thanks for the getting in touch. We are working hard on improving the user experience and have a much improved app on the way. If you have any other queries or suggestions please email rick@ultimaterugby.com

Great to begin with, now expensive

Great app to begin with and happy to subscribe to pro version initially.
As of yesterday subscription ended, and app now unstable. Can subscribe again for £8.99 for 6 months then over £20 a year!
Become a bit of a con unfortunately.

Dark Mode Broken

When dark mode enabled the calendar fixture lists aren’t visible as the foreground text and background is white! We pay a premium for this app, iOS 13 betas been out for ages. Expect at least basic testing by the devs. Sort it out!

Thanks for your feedback. The latest version supports the iPhone X and the Plus size devices. All the best

Had it all

This app has more than any other rugby app out there. BUT I started with the free app, moved to the paid app and now they ask for subscription. This would be fine if they were adding more content and not taking anyway from the other apps. But it’s the down scaling of the paid app that is hard to take.
I understand apps need subscriptions but this was not done well.

The load time for the app has increased hugely and often forgets my login and preferences.
There seems a bit to improve in the load time and back end. But still this app is the most comprehensive rugby app on the market. I still use it but not exclusively anymore and certainly not their subscription.

A great idea turned into a reasonable app.
