Reviews of Wire

  • Nice features, but consistently buggy

I’ve been using Wire for years and it WAS always a great experience to use. it does have some very nice features, especially on mobile, and doesn’t require a phone number to sign-up, which is a huge bonus. That said, about 2 years ago it started to act in unexpected ways and hasn’t been the same since. In fact, I would say the experience keeps getting worse. Currently, the biggest issues I face are that it consistently freezes and crashes every time I load the app. Never used to do that up until about 6 mo the ago.
  • Awesome privacy focused app

I started using this app about a year ago and my main concern was and still is privacy. The app works as advertised and nicely. The privacy features are more than enough for me. I gave this app 4 stars as there are some issues with it.
    1) sometimes notifications doesn’t come on time and you may lose time sensitive chats
    2) some randomly bugs appear like keyboard issues, phone heats up, app noticeably slow down etc
I really wish this app thrive and iron out the bugs.
It does for what it’s built for.
  • Meh

I have to use this app for work. I guess it’s more secure than the others. Msgs work. Calls work. Organizing groups is ok. Although I can’t see one group I’m involved in that I can see on my desktop. The most annoying thing is I can’t get the notifications to go away after someone calls in a group. Might be something else. Can’t stand that I think I am constantly missing a msg somewhere.
