Very educational

I enjoy practicing my rudiments with this App

90% great

A great tool to learn rhythm and speed. Only fault is on 3 rudiments, where the lead in count is wrong.

Great App

Great app, I have been using this app for years and it’s exactly what I was looking for. Definitely should be on every drummer’s radar.

It’s ok

Decent for $1 but could use annotations. I’m a beginner at reading and seeing things broken down into l L r R is a lot easier than notes

An excellent app, but can use some fundamental improvements

This is an awesome app. I personally highly recommend it. However, the interface needs some much needed tweaks to make it a great app. Namely:

1) BPM cannot be adjusted while playing a rudiment and could use a + and - adjustments to make adjusting BPM more efficient.

2) BPM should have an acceleration mode to help improve skill.

3) The user shouldn’t have to hunt for their next rudiment, beyond the opening screen. The screen should remain where you left it. Not jump back to the beginning every single time!

4) As a bonus, this app could and should include more exotic rudiments (e.g., herta, etc.) Not just the basic rudiments.

Still overall, it’s an awesome in any drummer’s arsenal.

Great app! Would definitely recommend.

I have practiced my rudiments more than I ever have because if this app. It takes out the guess work of whether you’re playing them correctly or not, and it keeps statistics of your practice sessions.

Tweaking required

1. Volume of metronome louder
2. Better track selection. I invariably get the one before or after
3. RL designation would help
However, all in all, a very helpful app.

A huge help!

I have been using this app almost every day for the past two months and love it! I have seen significant improvements in my ability to play the rudiments. Highly recommended!

Pros:
-Super simple and basic layout which allows me to focus on the rudiments rather than on the features
-Ability to mute either the metronome or the play-along track
-The play along track helps to play the rudiments exactly as they are supposed to be played
-I use the “guided practice” to test myself every few weeks, to record my progress and instead use the simple loop and speed trainer to practice with
-There are no advertisements!

Cons:
-I have never seen any other app drain my phone’s battery life like this one. In about an hour, my battery drops from 100% to 0% and otherwise it lasts all day! It even drains my battery when my phone is plugged into anything except an outlet
-The metronome only goes up to 220bpm, which is not an issue for me for except for with the flam rudiment
-It can be challenging to land on the exact tempo that I want with the metronome.

Suggestions:
-I would love to have the opportunity to play open-closed-open with each rudiment

Very good- should be a standard for drummers

The app is very good for an all in one experience with metronome, play back, & to have it written in front of you. Interface is the main down side. The list of rudiments is hard to figure out (best if you tap the name you want directly). Practice mode is a little arbitrary because it asks how “You” thought you did, if only it used the built in mic or an external device you could plug into to hear and grade how you did. Still a great app to have for all drummers. All (but one) rudiments are what you need to know for Perc. at Juilliard, highly recommend.

Pretty cool tool

The interface is a bit weird. It seems like anytime I click on a rudiment, it opens up one just before or after the one I clicked on.
I also wish there was a mixer for tweaking the levels of the snare and the metronome. I’d like a louder click and a quieter snare. But all in all it’s a great tool for an old drummer who never learned his rudiments.
I’m surprised there aren’t more apps like this. I downloaded a couple free ones and they were all pretty terrible.
