Web version is great, app version is terrible
I looked at this app for the primary purpose of being able to see the expected weather along a planned driving route. Google showed the web site as a result, and of the 5 “trip planning” services on the web I looked at, this was the easiest to use and had the clearest results GUI.
I noticed they have a mobile version, so I downloaded the one for iPhone, since that would be more useful in the car. First thing that was odd was that the description text said “Free download, in-app subscription to remove ads” but the App Store button said $2.99. Apparently there *is* a one-time charge, plus the additional option to subscribe. That’s a problem.
But since the web version was pretty good, I figured they’d have it right in the app as well, so I clicked and installed it for $2.99. Not at all as good, unfortunately.
I encountered two main issues and then I deleted it:
1) The in-app ads are full screen and don’t seem to have a close box. I waited to see if they time out and close, but apparently not. So I had to shut down and restart the app more than once.
2) Every time I tried to set up the “Navigate” weather-along-route feature, the app crashed as soon as I entered anything in the starting location field. I could never get past that, and it’s the main function I need.
So, one star for the mobile app. Four stars for the web version. Now I’m off the try to get a refund…Show lessmruehle0609

App quits every time I try to put an address in to travel to and from. Video ads which do not apply to me are ridiculously long! I just deleted the app and will just use the website when traveling for now.NFO mom

In order to provide premium weather features for free to our customers, we need to generate revenue from advertising. But we also offer an ad-free version. A good app, but I have paid for the removal of ads and continue to have ads active on my app. I have had no response from support.

The app is one of the better/more accurate weather apps I’ve used however it’s full of adds. When you upgrade and pay to have no adds you still get them. The follow up customer service is 1/10.
The charge isn’t much however don’t charge for what you don’t deliver.
After 2 messages and about 4 months of waiting they asked questions, thanked me for my feedback and that’s it. The email address they responded from

I downloaded it so I could see weather along a travel route. It crashes as soon as you enter locations and does not allow to create a longer travel route. Disappointed in the app. The website offered more.hvxsilverstar

This app has so many cool and unique features that would be super helpful, especially as someone who travels by car through the mountains quite often and needs to navigate weather ahead of time. It’s too bad it glitches out every time I try to use any of these features!! It’s in need of a LOT of bug fixes! And the screen gets crowded by ads! Used app for couple of years, love the Navigate option to see weather along route. Recent phone upgrade (13) this option no longer works without crashing app, otherwise would rate at 5 stars.PapaZack

I used this online and it worked great. A little slow but was awesome. It allowed me to hook my trip and it told me every step of the way in my journey what the weather would be like. I figured I’d download the App version and maybe it would run faster. So I did.
Every time I open it and out in an address it close the app completely. If it continues to happen, the app is useless. If I could give less than one star, I would!Show lesslittledrummerboyeee
