Reviews of MC3000

  • Battery programming is awesome

Awesome app that allows you to connect via Bluetooth to view, setup and execute personalized battery recipes as one sees fit for their cylindrical cells. I have seen some issues with three aspects of the application that are troublesome. 1. Recipes that are long will stop keeping track or time @ 18:12:15 every time. What runs that long, Refresh mode and a few others. Example: 5000mAh NiCad battery will run for just over 2days in Break-in mode. 2. Bluetooth will drop connection and not refresh. Solution I have found is to close app and reopen to reconnect. Another person stated that they turn off and need to cancel running recipe, but dower want to cancel…try rebooting app. 3. Sort recipes not allowing to sort. The only options allowed to perform is to deletes and cancel. No option to sort as needed unless created in order needed. Thus far, these are the only issues I’ve personally experienced. I will update if there are further issues discovered or resolutions to these issues.
  • 9-19-22 update?

    “Added data export option”

Export what data, don’t see EXPORT, or IMPORT in any settings. Can you be more OBTUSE….
  • It works, mostly

Its the only charger that gives you this sort of control, so it gets points simply for having a working Bluetooth app. However, I’ll always be wary that they don’t really have any incentive to keep this app working. Seems like they are (very slowly) fixing bugs, which is appreciated. The one major bug I encounter currently (and have encountered much more often since the most recent update) is that the app is awful at keeping Bluetooth connected to the device. The only way I’ve found to reconnect reliably is to restart the device, but I do not like to interrupt programs that are currently running. One feature request: these new 1.5v lithium batteries are very useful with devices for whom the 1.2v of an NiMH is not enough. I’m sure I can get them to charge fine by using unusual settings on various battery types, but it would be nice if they were simply added to the “battery type” list.
