I have tried 4 or 5 apps to help me learn Kana and this is certainly my favorite. Best features:
-It is free
-It is simple. No confusing gimmick. Just memorization.
-The software is smart and gives you new characters at a good pace while keeping the old fresh.
-It is helpful both for learning and retaining.
-It doesn't teach you the symbols in strict sets like some apps. When I try to learn symbols in the traditional sets I find myself cheating and just learning the vowel which means I have no clue what consonant a symbol goes with when I see it in a sentence.
-It is elegant and intuitive to use
-The unified study format makes it addictive. I never want to stop.
